You Are The First One / Barney Robertson

I still haven't found anything about the author of this song, and even the title is not certain, sometimes it's 'You Are The First One', sometimes it's in the past tense.

Anyway  David Cassidy was singing it so beautifully and dreamy, the video is great, and yes, he was our first one..

Maybe 50 years ago we didn't know how to describe our feelings, and we didn't know what feelings actually he evoked in us, by the songs he was singing and of course the way he looked..And we didn't really know what it was we wanted from him. But yes, I remember so well when I first heard 'How Can I Be Sure', like a completely new, exciting world suddenly materialized..and I wanted more. He showed us that love is the most important thing in life.

Somehow this 6th anniversary is more difficult than it was last year. For me at least. One of the reasons is that tomorrow I'm going away for a while, I'm leaving my home, and my blog, it's just a holiday (very needed one) but the last day before going anywhere is always difficult.

And last year on November 21st I was in London. We were in all those places, so familiar now, I feel  in London like at home, I've been everywhere in David Cassidy's footsteps. Many times people ask me for directions and I always know how to get here or there..Amazing. And all because of David.

Meeting with my fellow fans in London. On my way back home I always feel so sorry, regret not talking with everybody, my written English is much better than my spoken one, so sometimes I simply need more time to get used to a new accent. And there is always not enough time. Sometimes it's just a few words and smiles, so many lost opportunities to really get to know someone and have a proper talk.  And sometimes a miracle happens, a perfect timing like last year's meeting with Sharron and her husband, just three of us outside Dorchester, and the next day a magical hour with Jayne..And this year in September with Yvonne and June, with Pauline and Doreen and many more..All because of David..

We are united today in our grief, we, David Cassidy's fans, those who are on social media, but I'm sure also many others, all around the world, those who don't think or talk about him like we do, or even don't listen to his music anymore, but today they remember him as well.

Words of Love from David. 1973. And a great, outstanding tribute video.
