For at least 2 weeks I've been thinking about writing an entry called, 'David Cassidy our Christmas Decoration'. First of all you must know that we have a different tradition here, in Poland. Yes, our streets and shops look the same like everywhere at this time of the year, with Christmas decorations, it's nice even that the main purpose of it is money of course. 

But we decorate Christmas trees at our homes at the very last moment. In my house, on Christmas Eve, when everything is ready, clean and Christmas dinner is cooked, because in Poland the most important is a traditional family dinner on Christmas Eve.  But of course I know that it's different in the UK or the USA, and people decorate their houses, flats much earlier.

I'm not a fan of the way David Cassidy is used as a Christmas decoration on many posts, pictures, (I really don't know how to call them), published on some DC groups since the beginning of December. It's nothing new of course, in the 70s teen mags used to do a lot of strange things with his photographs. Now with eg. Photo Lab is very easy to make...everything with David Cassidy's pics. With his image. And of course it's nothing bad to add a Santa Claus Hat or even a Christmas tree to create such publication, but this is one-way road. And I'm sure  next Christmas we will have David as Christmas tree buble, winking at us and singing. With AI everything will be possible.

Of course David Cassidy makes this time of the year and upcoming Christmas much better. We listen to his wonderful Christmas music, he connects people all around the world, his fans. I send and I receive Christmas cards and presents from people I've met because of David. This is just amazing part of his legacy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . She was very popular in Poland, like the rest of the cast of 'Rich Man, Poor Man'. That tv series was shown in my country I think in 1978, and everybody watched it, also a lot was written about the cast. So one day I read that Kay's husband was a former teen idol, David Cassidy. Listening to his young, sincere, innocent and magical voice is one in a kind moving experience. 'I Just Hated Being In The Show..'

Last week someone posted a screenshot of the article from May 1974, unfortunately without the date or the name of the paper. Written by a popular journalist Roderick Gilchrist, I think it was Daily Express. We can read that this interview took place at London Weekend Television's Building, on the day before the DC's last concert in Manchester.  And David said, "I feel like the door to the cage has just been opened. And, any minute now I'm going to be able to fly right away from my prison.
