David Cassidy On Strictly Come Dancing.

I can't find now, but I remember reading in one interview how DC said that showing up was a big part of this business. Show business. He always knew that, how important it was. Industry events, TV appearances. And in the 60s he could watch quite often his father, Jack, on popular show game, 'Password'. I've watched one episode too, from November 1966.

David Cassidy took part in many shows, game and others, also as a contestant. The first ever video with DC on the website is Dating Game (June 19, 1970). In November 1977 he took part in 'Celebrity Challenge of the Sexes', and as we all know he was beaten by Susan Saint James in a swimming event. He lost, but we have outstanding pics, David comforted by his wife, Kay Lenz.

In 1982 there was another challenging show, called 'The Grand Prix All Star Show'. In 1988 DC appeared on extremely popular at the tme, 'Win, Lose or Draw'. Maybe he was invited on it by Bert Convy, with whom he befriended on the set of The Partridge Family. Bert Convy was multi talented man, a very promising athlete when a teen, a singer who had a Top 10 hit with a vocal band he joined in 1955. an actor and a very known game-show host. In the 80s he formed with Burt Reynolds an own production company, and 'Win, Lose or Draw' was their first production. It was a great success with a lot of international versions. Also in Poland.

Let's watch a short fragment with David.

That was his job, the way he earned money he needed so badly in 1988. I think he also had some fun, it was an opportunity to remind people about himself and meet old friends, like Bert Convy, who died just 3 years later, only 57.

There were other game shows in later years, after 2000, but a lot of us had a big surprise a few days ago watching David Cassidy on a dance contest show, popular all over the world, Strictly Come Dancing.  He wasn't a contestant of course, or a judge (it would have been awful), he was interviewed about the show, and according to website it was on November 16, 2006. But I like checking everything myself and actually that episode (it was Season 4) was aired on November 18, and it was watched by nearly 10 millions viewers. So this interview must have been pre-recorded.

What can I say? A big audience and of course David was a celebrity in the UK, so why not..

But what David Cassidy was doing in London in November 2006? He was 56 years old and still was working very hard, didn't spare himself. He played concerts in the USA on November 3, 4, 5, and on November 8,9,10,11 and 12 he performed in The Rat Pack is Back at Mohegan Sun Cabaret Theatre in Uncasville. And on November 14 he was in London, appeared at a press conference at the Hard Rock Cafe...Enough, it's tiring just writing it..

Let's finish with the song we all know and love, and I've been singing it today with David, in my car..
