Echo Valley 2-6809 / Rupert Holmes and Kathy Cooper

From 'Sound Magazine', released by Bell Records in July 1971. We can hear that song performed by Partridge Family in S2 E2, called 'In 25 Words Or Less', first aired September 24, 1971. One of the Partridge Family songs David Cassidy used to perform also in the 21st century. Sometimes he took a phone from a fan from the  audience..joking that the number wasn't available any longer..

Let's see the fragment from the episode, when Mrs Neugast at last let  the band record Echo Valley.

This is one of my favourite episode, DC was great and looked so gorgeous and that memorable scene from Muldoon's Point ('You kids invented something new?), interesting script and first of all great acting. Gerald Hiken as Bernie Applebaum, he twice appeared on TPF playing that good and boring doctor who dated Shirley. Gerald Hiken  died on January 6, 2021, aged 93.

And wonderful Kay Medford. What an unforgettable scene. Kay Medford and David Cassidy on a date..

We often write about very famous actors who guest starred on The Partridge Family, global stars like Farrah Fawcett, Jodie Foster, Mark Hamill or Richard Pryor, iconic actors like Margaret Hamilton or Ray Bolger, or actresses David dated, Meredith Baxter and Robyn Millan, and there were  many more wonderful actors or TV personalities, this list is very long and impressive. But there were also guest stars not so many often written about, and who are mine personal favourites. One of them is Kay Medford.

She is one of the 'forgotten stars'. She was orphaned in her teens, never married, had no children, died of cancer just 60 years old, in 1980. Stage, TV and film actress. For her performance as Rose Brice in the musical 'Funny Girl' and the film adaptation of the same name. was nominated for a Tony and an Academy Award. But she lost, twice.

Let's see Kay Medford and Barbra Streisand in a short musical number from 'Funny Girl'
