'..Promise Me That You Won't Desert..'

From 'Soft As A Summer Shower', written by that mysterious Adam Miller.

I've been searching for the right title for today's entry in vain,  and at last I've got it. The lyrics of that song like written for us, David Cassidy and his fans. It still hurts..

My very close English friend is a great fan of 'Journey', and a few days ago she celebrated Steve Perry's 75th birthday. Posting links to his songs and pics, writing how great he still looks with silver hair, so full of energy and still touring. And we..We have great memories.

And work to do to keep his legacy alive. The Music Walk Of Fame in London. Sharron Liddle has got another email with words of support, this time from Anthea Turner, we can always count on her. For those not from the UK, she is a very known TV presenter, celebrity, and David Cassidy's fan. She took part in the famous BBC doc, 'David Cassidy : Teenage Dream (1998), she attended his concerts, and of course met him in person.

Anthea Turner has written that David Cassidy deserves to be honoured, and, "Thank you for your continued persistence and keeping his flame alive, he meant so much to so many."

We have some sad anniversaries in January. Dave Madden died 10 years ago, on January 16. It was such a brilliant idea making Shirley a widow, and the Partridges instead a father, who could have been a dominant figure, got a manager. Someone always for them, always ready to help, a friend for good and bad times. We all love Reuben Kincaid. Dave Madden. So many wonderful scenes, we know them by heart and we can watch them all over again, with the same joy and pleasure.

And Harry Nilsson died on January 15, 1994. 30 years ago. He was only 52. David Cassidy was a huge fan of Harry Nilsson in the 60s. Not only David. Also John Lennon and Paul McCartney. They invited Harry to London, and it was Paul McCartney who ask Harry Nilsson to write a song for Mary Hopkin. The demo was ready the next day. The Puppy Song. Both Harry and Mary recorded it, but it was David who had his number one single with that song. The double A-single (with Daydreamer) was number 1 in the UK for 3 weeks in November 1973. Harry Nilsson's influence on David's singing style in the 70s is very audiable. In my opinion at least.
