'Who The Hell Is David Cassidy?!'
Chuck Laufer, 'A kid comes on and he's got diabetes. I didn't know who he was, but he was raw-boned and vulnerable, and I thought, this kid's terrific. So I waited for the credits. The next day I came into the office and asked, 'Who the hell is David Cassidy???'

It's the most famous, the most important of David Cassidy's pre The Partridge Family's TV roles. It was the first season of that extremely popular TV series. Everybody watched it. David wore very posh clothes as his character, Michael Ambrose. In one scene he was shirtless..
In this article you can read some great stories told by DC, about his first TV roles.

David himself was very satisfied with his acting on Marcus Welby. It was a very emotional performance. Girls from all over America started sending letters to popular newspapers and magazines asking questions about the beautiful boy..'Who is he??' In May 1970 David's pic was on the cover of FaVE! magazine. Inside there was an article written by Loudy Powell, called, 'His name is David Cassidy (he sings too!)

On the other note.
It is so unexpected and we are so happy that The California Music Walk of Fame will be inducting and dedicating their April 14th, 2024 ceremony to David Cassidy. What a news, and so out of the blue. When Lanie Bray posted it yesterday on David Cassidy- Greatest Fans Group (she was the first), we even chatted a little bit about going for the ceremony. For me just 13 hours of non-stop flight from Warsaw to LA, for Lanie even more. It would have been wonderful to be there on that day..Worth every money. Back to reality. I hope that we will be able to see a video from the ceremony.
It's also interesting question why David. Of course for us he should be honored everywhere, but let's face it, so far only fans remembered David. And we know how much time and money is behind every single plaque or a bench, it took some years before we have got the DC Star in Las Vegas.
I think this recognation is truly extraordinary and of course very well-deserved. David Cassidy lived and worked in Los Angeles for many years. He went to school there, made films and recorded his music, achived his biggest success, owned houses.. He had his ups and downs there. He performed as an actor and a singer everywhere in California. In every decade of his career. And last but not least. no matter how busy he was, David Cassidy always had time to help, and the list of charity events he took part in, is very long. It started when he became the first Young Chairman of the Special Olympic programme, in 1973. And it's worth remembering that he helped not for his glory, not in the spotlight.
A lot of people remember this, remember David Cassidy. The man.
