'On Fire'. David Cassidy in Europe. Part 2.
But first the recent video Jane has posted on The David Cassidy Official Website. I saw it a few years ago on YT, but couldn't find it later.
I love how DC looked at the time, in July 1993, he just started performing in 'Blood Brothers', short hair suited him better after 40 (in my opinion of course). And there was something so touching and vulnerable about him, boyish and sexy, you can almost feel how emotional he was. In later years David changed into someone tougher and someone who could better hide his emotions.
It was a great time for him, summer of 1993. A real Partridge renaissance, in June was TPF marathon on MTV, and in July Nickelodeon aired the show every weeknight at 8p.m. We can see how happy he was that day, so enthusiastically received by fans, it was in his native city and last but not least it's great to see them together. David and Wes Farrell. Actually this is the only one video where we can see both of them. There are just some pics from the 70. Wes Farrell died in February 1996, only 56 years old.

Let's get back to the topic. DC in Europe. It's an interesting question why David didn't play concerts in France and Spain in 1973.
On March 3 he attended the Radio Luxembourg Golden Lion Awards in Dortmund, Germany, next evening played concert in Hamburg. On March 5 he arrived in Paris, and stayed there for probably 2 days, rehearsing and taping for French TV. Or maybe he was just one day, anyway on March 8 DC played a concert in Belgium and on March 9 two concerts were planned in Offenbach, Germany again, but because of poor tickets sales they were cancelled. So instead he went to Spain. It looks like it was something organized at the last minute. Hope Spanish fans can tell us more.
Why 3 shows in Germany were planned and not a single one in Paris or in Madrid? DC was popular in France and Spain too, so probably money was a reason. But in return we have wonderful recordings of DC performing his greatest hits ; for the French TV he sang 'Daydreamer', and for Spanish TV - 'Could It Be Forever?' and 'Rock Me Baby'.

In the 70s DC was in Spain just once, but a few times in France, not only in Paris. Why he never played concerts there? He again guest starred in 1974, there are 2 programs listed on the website, we have only one video, and again in 1976. David with Steve Ross guest starred on two programs, how lucky we are he chose his own, great song..
