Crazy Over You / David Cassidy
At last I've had some time to check the recent May's updates on The David Cassidy Official Website. I've started from the end, concert pictures published today.
June 30, 2012, South Point Casino Las Vegas. DC at 62 looked just fabulous, and he was so happy on stage. It was such a blessing for David to meet his musical brother, Craig J. Snider. He helped David not to be just a nostalgic act, to change the music he performed and recorded, and move forward. For David, the members of his band became friends, even more.
David Cassidy had so many serious problems in 2011 and 2012, but on stage he felt safe and happy. In many reviews we can read that in 2012 DC played outstanding concerts because he concentrated more on the music not on chatting with the audience. He returned to his roots, the music he loved listening to and playing in the 60s, and the 70s. Blues and rock.
David Cassidy playing Crossroads in 2012..Pure rock, such power and excitement, he looked and felt like 18 again.. his performance, singing and playing so raw and sincere, I just can't find words..

Thanks to Lucio and other fans we have more great videos of David Cassidy's concerts from 2007, 2008 and 2010. Each tape is simply priceless, and for me watching those concerts is extremely emotional, sometimes with tears in my eyes. David Cassidy with the Osmond brothers.

Jane has also updated the page called 'Ruby and the Rockits - Publicity', now we have interviews on the set with David, Alexa and Austin, 'Ruby' related TV and radio interviews and impressive number of newapaper and web articles. And adverts for the series. Really ABC tried to promote it.

I've seen all the episodes once, and even some episodes more than once, there are some funny moments. The previous year, 2008 was very emotional for David (Sweet Vendetta's victory but also David's statement of being an alcoholic). He needed a lot of support from his friends and family and Ruby became such an opportunity. The first episode was aired on July 21, 2009, the last one on September 2.
I think the producers had trouble to decide who the show was for. It was meant for everyone so for no one really. Some ideas were borrowed from The Partridge Family. But gone forever were the times when the parents watched TV with their teenage kids like it was in the 70s. Alexa and Austin were attractive and they sang very well but for the young audience the series was too polite and too correct.
And David? Like always 100% pro, there were some great scenes with him, but in general he looked tense and like he was thinking about something else on the set and didn't care much.

And 'Crazy Over You'? I just love this song and it's playing in mind today and besides this is my entry number 800 and we are still crazy over DC...
