"I Know These Three Concerts Are Going To Be the Best.."

We've been waiting and waiting and suddenly this special week has come. 50 years ago, May 20 was also on Monday. I can imagine this level of excitement, already on Monday, fans waiting for Friday (Glasgow concert), Sunday (London) and Tuesday (Manchester)..or maybe I can't imagine how it was.

It must have been strange, loving David, and each girl was sure she was the one for him, she was to marry him one day..waiting for his concert, thinking about clothes to wear.. and when the big day came..it must have been disappointment that there were others, thousands of them, all in love, ready to fight for the best place, to be as close to him as possible..

Seeing David in Glasgow, London, Manchester or Sydney, Melbourne or Perth in 1974, it's like being a member of an exclusive club. Sure I'm envious and very grateful for those fans who share their memories with us, those unlucky ones who couldn't see David live for whatever reasons.

David Cassidy arrived to the UK on Thursday, May 23, 1974, but of course a lot of articles were published earlier, building that excitement. On the day DC performed in Glasgow, The Sun had the exclusive interview with him, by Bob Hart. David truly loved St Tropez. "I just loved it - those beautiful women blew my mind completely. I love beautiful women. Just looking at them lifts me up, and St Tropez is a great place for looking..'" He liked Paris too,"I went shopping in the Flea Market in Paris and I got pushed and shoved like everybody else. I'm not very well known in France, and being able to act like a normal human being gave me a taste of what I hope the future will hold in other countries.."

After the last concert David wanted to explore Europe more, and cruising around the Greek Islands in a chatered yacht. He was also planning with Henry Diltz to write and publish a book about his world tour..He said," I just want to write the true story. (..) It will all be in there - the highs, the lows, and the ladies. (..) It will show both sides of me, good and bad."

David was so happy his last concerts were to be in Britain. "I know these three concerts are going to be the best I have ever done, and I'm going to enjoy every minutes of them.."
