'On This Day' And Every Other Day
I'm writing today about 'On This Day' page we have on the homepage of The David Cassidy Official Website, not because I have my share in completed it, but it's really something special.
Let's first listen to David Cassidy singing 'New York City Life'. Amazing, fabulous song which shows DC's knowledge of his roots, the Great American Songbook, his talent as a composer and first of all as a very talented lyricist.
The lyrics to this song are not long, but he managed to express everything in it. The fact that he never was really at home in California, and he never liked LA's smoggy air and eartquakes, his glory past there and active love life (haha) and that New York was the place to be, to live and to achieve a success. His hometown, his New York City life.
I wish we had a really good video with this song

Most fans don't check the hompage of The David Cassidy Official Website often if ever, we, fans publish info and talk about David on social media, but a homepage of any site is very important and our homepage has been improved in recent years. It's because of our many conversations on better and clearer access to info, to thousands of pages of the website, that Jane asked me several months ago if I'd like to finish that project. The work on 'On This Day' started actually quite long time ago, by Jane and Silvia, but when Silvia couldn't work on it anymore, the project has been abondoned.
The most important is that Jane and Silvia created the project, those Excel sheets, and Silvia entered all data on DC's theatre performances, important private events and some others. So it was easy for me to continue her work, enter the rest, and put the links to appropiate places on the website.

And now our homepage is not only a directory to the website multiple pages (and it was also improved some time ago), but now even an accidental viewer can see how much is going on, on The David Cassidy Official Website, that it's still alive, if I can put it this way.
What have I learnt about DC while doing this project?
That he was an actor first, definitely, that theatre was the most important for him, that even his pop songs have teatral feel and it's a shame that he didn't get some roles in the music theatre that he was trying to get.
That the list of charity work of David Cassidy is very, very long and I really don't know how he found time for countless of charity concerts and events he took part in or organized himself or with Sue and others.
That he had more horses than I've ever imagined and that he had a lot of ups and downs as a horse owner and breeder. And of course that he was workaholick, all his life working non stop, often on a Christmas Eve or a New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.
I'm forever grateful to Jane for this unique opportunity to complete 'On This Day' project.
