Together (Havin' A Ball) / Shorty Rogers and Kelly Gordon
I think it's a perfect song for an entry about fans' meetings.

A few days ago some British fans met in Liverpool to remember David Cassidy and his connections with this famous English city. Pauline Tombs has written for us about this meeting. She is is not only David's but also The Beatles' fan and we owe to her the fact that there are places in Liverpool where David Cassidy is commemorated.
This is very emotional and also very important that after nearly 7 years that have passed since David Cassidy's death, and against many odds, we, fans, still meet from time to time, in person, to remember David. Also this year.
California Music Hall Of Fame turned out to be a great disappointment, but fans from the US, UK and Canada who came to California in April, had a great time together and once in a lifetime opportunity to meet Sam Hyman. David Cassidy had many friends during his lifetime, but only one so special, only one forever, They met 62 years ago..This is the link to the great Mark Wyckoff article from 2012, about their friendship. I love reading it from time to time, great stories, wonderful pics.

And also Australian fans have met this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of David Cassidy's concerts and his memorable visit there in 1974. There were not many of them, on the contrary, but I feel it was an important and memorable meeting.
Let's return to Europe. British fans usually meet in London, at least once a year, this time it was Liverpool. This is what Pauline Tombs has written for us.
A Liverpool Connection
'As time gose by! It was way back in February 1964, when 73 million viewers tuned into the Ed Sullivan show to see the Beatles for the first time! One of those 73 million included a young boy of 13 years of age named David Cassidy, heard them sing their first song, 'All My Loving' and there although unbekown to young David, began a Liverpool Connection.
The connection grew when New Years Eve 74/75, David Cassidy found a Beatle at his front door with a mutual friend of both John and David, and there 10 years later a friendship was made, that David Cassidy held dear to his heart, for the rest of his life.
Almost 20 years later. theatre producer, Bill Kenwright, also a Liverpudlian, was looking for a Narrator for his production of 'Blood Brothers' on Broadway and David Cassidy came to mind, but it was the role of Mickey, David wanted and Bill agreed.
'Blood Brothers' the story, is based on a Liverpool family, you may well recall DC's excellent accent and had its first showing at Liverpool Playhouse.

Breaking up is hard to do of which there is so much of in the connections and on the 17th of November 2012, David Cassidy performed his last concert in the UK at the Echo Arena (now the M&S Arena).
On Wednesday the 24th July 2024, a group of David Cassidy Fans visited Liverpool to remember David Cassidy and his Liverpool connection and the impact these connections were in his life.

Thank you Pauline. We don't have a pic with David Cassidy and John Lennon, but we can imagine David on that New Years Eve, laughing and joking but also serious while playing his guitar..
