Those Were The Days..

I'm still on a holiday at the seaside, actually going home tomorrow, and yesterday like all of the other fans, all around the world I was remembering David Cassidy on the seventh painful anniversary.

When I arrived in Turkey last Saturday, I thought to myself that this year's anniversary would be different for me, I even wrote a very positive entry about it. Let's remember David with a smile and joy.. Sunshine and C'mon Get Happy. But when the day came, it was Crying In the Rain for me, and not just because actually it was raining yesterday.

Yes, it was really hard. Of course for us David is still 'alive', we write about him every day, using the present tense, we admire his pics, listen to his music, his songs for us sound like they were recorded only a moment ago..

Yesterday a lot of remembering posts were published, some very beautiful, some not, but all made with love and sadness. There were pics from St Giles church in London. One fan went to Saratoga..But our collective love then and now couldn't change David's fate, his destiny. And we were crying yesterday, remembering him and those wonderful years when we were young and he was with us.

Sam Hyman's post was the most meaningful yesterday (great thanks for Denise Ames for sharing it) and as we know it was written for us, David fans. The pic, David so young, in this famous T-shirt, and those words, from Mary Hopkin old hit.

'Those were the days my friend, we'd thought they never end..'

We'll cherish those years forever.
