Why It Still Hurts..

I have an impression that this year's, this seventh anniversary is even more difficult than the previous ones.

How well we remember that day, what we did, our shock and our feelings. And it happened that I learnt about David's death on November 22, the day after, it's a long story and I've already written about it more than once.

Anyway the worst was not being able to share my grief with anyone, because I wasn't on a social media at the time, I had no idea about the website and I never, ever told anyone about falling in love with David's voice in the early 70s. Or about seeing his pics in Bravo, or that I watched the BBC doc 'David Cassidy a Teenage Dream' in 1998. No one.

So on November 22, 2017 I was in shock and I had no idea what to do about it.

Sure the members of my family noticed there was something strange with me, and I couldn't stand them, so I went for 2 weeks holiday to Egypt (I was already retired), and there I found at last someone I could tell about David Cassidy.

It was an Egyptian man in his early 30s, the guy from a spa, he spoke fluent English and was very smart, not a typical one for sure. I told him from the start I was not interested in any kind of massage and other things (sex), and out of the blue we became friends, and kept talking like crazy any time his boss wasn't looking. He told me a lot of amazing things about Egypt, the history and the present (he knew a lot also about Poland's history which was really something), and he told me about.. a science fiction book he wrote, which was really amazing and original. I mean the plot and the story itself..And I told him about David Cassidy and let him hear some David's music..

I've forgotten his name, and I've never been in that place again, but I remember this young man very kind and intelligent face and his genuine sadness and delight, when he was listening to this song..

And on my last day in Egypt I had a massage of my back for free on the beach. Everyone was looking 😂, also the boss.
