Growing Up In New Jersey, And David's Sense Of Humor (Again)
I haven't yet read all the articles published recently on the website, it's impossible. The sheer number of them and the new info.
I wish we had some kind of index to be able to find quickly what's in each article on the website. There are so many of them (articles), and even for someone like me, a former librarian and a DC maniac, it's became difficult recently to find something, and it takes a lot of time.
Eg in one of those new/old articles DC's shared some memories about growing up in New Jersey. Maybe this is not something interesting for an average fan, but I love such details. And if we'd had an index, this article would have got 2 keywords - 'Concerts 2000's' and 'West Orange' or 'Growing Up - West Orange'. And it could be so easy to find it again, anytime it would be needed.
Anyway during that phone interview DC was asked, 'What do you remember about growing up in New Jersey?'
And he said, 'I have a lot of great memories (..) I lived in West Orange with my mom and my grandparents until I was 11. I would spend several weeks during the summer visiting my father, who was doing summer stock theater in Lambertville and in Bucks County. My mom was also doing summer stock in Lambertville, and she, my grandparents and I would go down to the shore - on the West Coast, everyone calls it 'the beach', here they call it 'the shore', we'd go to Asbury Park, Belmar and Red Bank. I also remember my uncle and my mother took me for a summer weekend in Cape May..'

And in many articles we can read about David's sense of humor. I especially like this one review, from 2001, not only because the author wrote about David, 'Cassidy is enormously talented.'

This is also one rather strange article, and it looks like written by someone with no sense of humor at all, or I don't know what to think about it.
She calls Partridge Family's music, 'embarrassing', she bought their albums in the 70s because DC 'was cute', and she thought David looked in real life like his character on Malcolm In The Middle. "I gave up my love for David Cassidy when I saw him make a guest appearance on Malcolm in The Middle. I don't know what happened, but, it's over, David." That article, published in 2007 was about teen idols, but I'll not post a link to it, because the author owned the shop with old lunch boxes and memorabilia, so the article was first of all written to promote the shop (in my opinion.)
Instead, let's read one of the best articles ever written about David. From 1973, by Barbara Lewis. The article is very good because it's objective, written without any prejudices. That's what DC himself always asked for. Nothing more
