'The Partridge Family Doesn't Live Here Anymore'
I've had trouble today with the title. First I've wanted it to be, ' A band was a fake but David Cassidy was the real thing', or 'David was the engine that made this music work'. Both quotes are from the doc about The Partridge Family, from the series called 'Behind The Music'. It was aired for the first time exactly 25 years ago.
Maybe a song first, it was played (fragments) several times during the 44 minutes of the documentary.

I watched The Partridge Family Behind The Music a few years ago, when I didn't know much about the show, the people who created the music for it, and even about DC himself. I've watched it again today in the morning, and I'm still under the spell.
I've posted the link to it on our David Cassidy Great Britain Legacy Group, but I think it's not enough, and I want to write something more about this very interesting documentary.
1. First of all we can see some wonderful footage from the set, and also fragments of DC's concerts. David Cassidy and the members of the Wrecking Crew recording old Partridge Family's hits in 1999 and having a great time together. Fragment's of Susan Dey's interviews from 1986 and 1993 (I've never seen them before). We can see Suzanne Crough with her husband and her two young kids. Danny's interviews. And great DC's pics, and I haven't seen some of them either.
2. The interviews with the people who created the show and the music, most of them since 2000 have passed away. Mike Melvoin (1937-2012) and Hal Blaine (1929-2019) - both legendary musicians who during their careers worked with the greatest names in the music history. Bob Claver (1928-2017) - the executive producer of the show, he was present on the sets of all 96 episodes, and some of them directed. Paul Junger Witt (1941-2018), TPF's producer, who was not only a TV but also a film producer (Dead Poets Society). And how they appreciated David's talent..

Dale McRaven (1939-2022), TPF's screenwriter and producer, at one time Susan Dey was to marry him, anyway he cured her from anorexia. We can see a fragment of the interview with him either.
The documentary was made in 1999, a lot was said about the iconic status of the show, and its popularity, also in the 90s. The show's popularity, but sadly not the music's.
This is the link.
And the title?. It's strange, but according to Danny Bonaduce, he had no idea that the filming of the show was over (after the 96th episode), and like always appeared (with someone from his family) at the studio, ready for work. And they were told that, 'The Partridge Family Doesn't Live Here Anymore..'
