My Number 1
No, not my fav the DC's song. It's just not possible, I love 98% of everything he ever recorded. I can only say what song is my number 1 today. And today is 'Breaking Down Again'. Such a wonderful song, and in 1976 everybody had great expectations..David and the RCA's guys. From David's liner notes (btw we are so lucky that he took time to write them)
DC : '..I was sittin' at the keys and working on that idea and Bill (House) strolled up real casual like, as is his style and we just wrote it. Where I got a void - he'd fill right in. The easiest song I ever wrote. Bill was originally going to sing one of the harmonies, but neither of us could cut the high past like Gloria could, bless her soul, and I do mean soul.(..)..it's just easy singin' with your friends - especially if they're cute. Shake it darlin'.'
It's so moving, the song and those words young David Cassidy, so full of hope, wrote for us so many years ago. Gloria..she was cute and very professional. I read somewhere that she died young..drugs.

I haven't got a breakdown, no..but I haven't been very happy either. You know - The Petition. The London Music Walk Of Fame. David said in 1972 - "I like to think that my fans go for my music not my face'. But what if he was wrong ? We keep writing how underestimated, great singer David was. So I've decided to make some changes the way my blog looks like and to check which of my entries was the most popular. My number 1.

And my number 1 blog is the one posted in March this year, called 'Kay Lenz, an Actress' And in top 5 was an entry wrote by Sharron (The Phoenix Theatre) and about Suzanne Crough. And of course the one called 'I Kissed David'. And the one wrote by Wendy Copeland about The Las Vegas Ceremony.
Do I have any conclusions ? No..only that I will keep writing about DC and his music.
AND PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION
I loved Gloria's voice...so sad she left us in her early age.

Yes, we can hear her on 3 DC's albums. And 'Breakin' Down Again' it's such a powerful song. Why some songs become known hits and some don't ? It's not worse than eg Eric Carmen's 'All By Myself'..
