If I had ever met David Cassidy..

Of course probably I would have just stared and said..'Eeeee..Mr Cassidy..eee... I'm a fan' . Very original. But really, if I had ever met him I would have asked  some questions, even probably I'd have known the answers. Not questions about his private life, because private is private, but about choices he'd made regarding his career.

Question 1. Why when he started playing gigs again after 2000, he hardly played any songs from albums recorded for RCA in the 70s?

Yes, he played 'I Write The Songs', it was one of his greatest hits of course, and he played ( sometimes) 'Common Thief', but why not the others?

Of course I know that every entertainer has a set of songs he or she performs live, and changes are rearly made. A concert is a serious thing, a lot of people are involved in it, there are rehearsals, and fans buy tickets to hear the songs they know and love. It's a business, a job.

Recently I've made some set lists of DC's concerts, and truly speaking it was boring - I Can Feel Your ..Point Me..Summer Days..Daydreamer..ITILY,  a little different set for the U.S. with eg. Sweet Little Angel, in the UK - Last Kiss..but why not..'On Fire' or 'Fix Of Your Love' instead let's say.. 'Hush'? Why not the songs he co-wrote?

Yes I know his voice changed, he was no longer in his twenties,  it was too late for 'Tomorrow' or 'Rosa's Cantina', but what about an acoustic version of 'Half Past Our Bedtime' not The Beatles' 'You Have To Hide Your Love Away'. David's (and Gerry B.'s and R. Fataar's) 'Bedtime' is truly magical, just breathtaking..

Of course some fans had no idea about those recordings, David had such  great hopes for them, and I once have read that  when a fan asked him about those albums he said with a sneer ''..my creative period'. And he said that those years after 1974 had been  so painful for him, that he even didn't like those songs. Yes, it could have been an answer. I can understand that..Another gem, the DC's own

Question 2. Why he didn't write more songs with Bill House?

The songs co-wrote with Bill - 'On Fire' , 'A Fool In Love', 'Breakin' Down Again' , 'Run And Hide', and DC also recorded Bill's song 'Common Thief'. Bill House :' When I first met David, it was almost like we'd known each other for a long time.(..) We wrote them (songs) all that day. There was such good compatibility between us that we'd write line after line. we were tuned into each other as writers.' (D.Cassidy :'Could It Be Forever?, 2007).

Here is David Cassidy in 2015, and such an emotional, painful and really outstanding 'Common Thief'..'don't turn away..' It's a great song and David was just amazing live performer.

Question 3 Why he didn't go on tour in 1976? Maybe in 1975 was too early, but 1976 could have been perfect. A lot of new material after 2 albums, friends ready to risk and try with him. In 1972 Paul McCartney with Wings decided on tour of the UK's universities (or maybe it was in the USA? Can't remember), and it was a great idea..No screaming girls, just students who could have appreciated good music. Not going on tour..it was a mistake..

Question 4. Why nothing came out of the film about Paul Getty III, and other film projects..

Question 5. Why he didn't release 'Crazy Over You'  or 'Then I'll Be Someone' ? Why?
