No Bridge I Wouldn't Cross / Simon Climie, Billy Laurie, Lulu Frieda

Just a short entry today, I'm busy in Warsaw for 2 days, but you can't leave DC even for a while.

First because Austin Butler's eyes are looking at me wherever I go.

He is the latest global YSL fragrance ambassador, and his posters are on every bus stop and in every shopping centre.

Nice poster, but imagine if David..I'd have been the first to buy..for myself. Nevertheless I'm happy for Austin, he was great as Elvis, and because of his working with David we wish him the best.

So the song, so important for David Cassidy. A hit from that amazing, great album, 'Old Trick New Dog'. In 1998 DC was again working non stop, performing in EFX, night after night, but it was not enough for him.

The album was released in May of 1998, 25 years ago, by his own, short-lived record label, Slamajama Records, launched with Linda Blum, his business partner. David wanted to make something different and achieve a new modern sound.

Released two weeks before the official street date over the Internet, 'Old Trick New Dog' in less than 2 days was in the top 5 in online record sales. It was a very good album - completely different from the two previous ones released in the 90s. DC made a point that this time he wouldn’t collaborate with Sue Shifrin. The album was very fresh and contemporary.

He was very happy and proud to have a hit again in his native country. 'No Bridge I Wouldn't Cross' became Adult Contemporary Top 25 hit in the USA

I thought about this song yesterday, when I read one comment on the post on David Cassidy Greatest Fans Group. That we should stop writing about Jack Cassidy and his relationship with David. Because they both are dead now, and let's just remember good things etc.

What a strange argument. There are a lot of people who lived in the past, who are still very important, their lives and work alike. Like David Cassidy for us. And we are his fans, not only because he was once a very pretty boy who sang happy love songs in the early 70s. His struggles and heartbreaks, his courage and the way he reinvented himself are also very meaningful part of his legacy.

We love and respect David Cassidy so don't worry. There are bridges we would not cross..
