'Girl, You Make My Day / Tommy Boyce and Tommy Hart

'You're the sunshine that I hold deep inside me when I'm cold..'

From 'Shopping Bag'. There was a time I didn't like this song, but it's changed. Of course, first of all David's magical young voice is responsible for it, but there is something more. Something irresistible, this song is charming and uplifting, and I've thought about it while looking for the right title for today's blog.

David Cassidy always makes our days better: his music, his smile or even something written about him. And I've had rather tiring weekend, but because of DC it wasn't so bad as it could have been.

First someone wrote on Threads, that "David Cassidy had one of the finest singing voices of all time" and published the link to 'Summer Days'. Nothing more, but it was enough to make me smile. And of course it's so true. So many fans, especially no American ones, fell for David after listening to him. Without knowing how he looked like.

It happened to me or Sharron Liddle. 3 years ago Sharron told in an interview for my blog, "I was listening to my little transistor battery radio to the charts music on a Sunday evening and I heard 'Could It Be Forever'. David's beautiful voice made me close my eyes and dream. I never imagined he'd be so beautiful too. It was his voice that first captured my heart."

This video is simply priceless, appeared last year after half a century, DC in Spain, singing live, just his voice, no screaming girls, and there is something so deeply moving about his voice. He got the lyrics wrong, but it's not important..someone wrote in comment, "What a dreamboat, what a talent, what a great loss to the world of pop music'. Yes, it was a great loss already in the 70s, because he didn't record more music,  he didn't get the recognition he deserved as a great pop singer.

And yesterday I had at last time to watch and listen to those great conversations on You Tube Celebrity Drop. The one with Ryan Cassidy was published last year, has nearly 200k views. Ryan Cassidy is a  wonderful man, I love his voice and smile, his independence and his sensitivity. He was only 10 when Jack Cassidy died in a fire and it wasn't easy to find his own way in such a family. The way he talked about David, it's obvious how he miss him. And I think that Ryan is the most similar of the Cassidy brothers to David.

The second interview is new, published 3 weeks ago..what an amazing guy Danny Bonaduce is, a senior citizen now with health problems, but still like a kid. Talking too fast, exaggerating (he said 2 girls were killed at DC's concert), also self-centered, a great story teller, funny..What a fighter he is. And in one moment he says, "you get an angel on your shoulder that's named David Cassidy". That was something.
