A Promo David Cassidy's Single

But first the song which has been a lot with me recently. And to think  there was a time I didn't like it. 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town For Old and Tired' as I call it.

DC recorded his Christmas EP in August 2016, it was released in November. Just 16 minutes of six Christmas classics, five the same he recorded for Partridge Family. In 1971.

David Cassidy was an extraordinary, one in a kind singer. And all his life he was working with the best musicians, who appreciated his talent. This EP is not an exception, There is such a wonderful, bluesy feeling about this song, dark humor. Yes, we've been very good Santa.

A few days ago I saw that someone is selling a promo DC's single. (it's still on ebay). Actually I felt rather excited about it, and sent the link to The DC Official Website, and some friends, even that it was only a promo recording. Not for selling, just the kind normally sent directly to broadcasters, in the hope of the future commercial release. But no one was excited about it, just me, which I thought a little strange.

There was only one song on it. The title, 'Saying Goodbye Ain't Easy (We'll Have To Go Away)/ Chater-Armand. Strings arranged by Bob Alcivar, Executive Producer - Alan Abrahams, Produced by Gerry Beckley and David Cassidy.

This ballad is so powerful, the music, the lyrics and very mature and emotional David Cassidy's vocal. I also like  Sharon Angulot's tribute video very much.

Of course this song with the title 'I'll Have To Go Away' was released  first in 1976, as a Side B of the single "Gettin' It In The Streets', but couldn't make it to Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 1976.

But I had no idea, that there was one more try to make a hit out of it, because this promo, with the different title, was released in 1977, and I've had no idea about it.

One more fav from David Cassidy's Christmas EP. 'Blue Christmas' (For Old And Lonely)
