I'm Into Something Good / Gerry Goffin and Carole King
After writing my last entry (Rock This Town), I spent a happy hour watching David Cassidy, Micky Dolenz and Peter Noone's concert from March 22, 2013. Great video put together by one and only Lucio. We own him so much, amazing videos and audios from the last decade of David Cassidy's life.
Jane Blackie, a fellow fan from our David Cassidy Great Britain Group who also watched this concert on YT, wrote in comment, 'It was brilliant, funny, serious and all worked together really well. I thought All You Lucky people in the audience.' Really well said. I was watching and singing with them, some songs made me smile, some emotional, but first of all I knew every single one of them by heart. Peter Noone, Micky Dolenz and David Cassidy looked like they knew all the lyrics and having great time either..

David was the best, I know that fan means fanatic, but he really was extraordinary, as a performer, a human being and a heartthrob. Always. To the end.
David Cassidy of course knew the Monkees and Herman's Hermits' hits very well. He was at high school when they were released. 'Daydream Believer' was the number 1 hit on Billboard in December 1967. Herman's Hermits' 'There's a Kind of Hush' (btw it was a cover) was a hit earlier the same year. Actually Peter Noone and his bandmates recorded quite a lot of covers, and often their versions were more popular than the originals, e,g. 'Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter', #1 hit on Billboard in May 1965.
'I'm Into Something Good' was first recorded in summer of 1964 by Cookies' member Earl-Jean.

Herman's Hermits version became its sole #1 hit in the UK, in September the same year, 1964. Peter Noone, Mickey Dolenz, David and the audience sang it together in 2013.

For us, David's fans (for me at least), the best version of this song is unreleased Partridge Family's cover. Maybe even it should have been called David Cassidy's cover, because it was his voice, his interpretation that made this version soo good. So personal, like he personally was telling us about his joy of meeting this one, special girl. The song is one of those didn't release by Bell (it's a painfully long list), and only featured on the episode from Season 4, 'Beethoven, Brahms and Partridge'. When Keith created the first Partridge's Concerto For Cello in D, Major, and learnt that music was music and bringing happiness to people by his own pop music was the most important.
