'David At His Best'

But first something which has made me realise (again), that whatever we do and write about DC's legacy, and regardless what David Cassidy achieved and how wonderful singer he was (in every decade of his career), he is stuck in this one moment of time, to the end of the world. Forever Keith Partridge and a teen idol.

DC wanted to live in the present. We can read this in his books and in countless interviews. He wrote about the years when he was a global star, "I am still amazed by it, awed by it, and often proud of it. Have been questioned endlessly for over thirty years about my life and career. However, I simply wish to live in the now. Fortunately for me, I have a great now. Now is where my happiness lives. But, man, did it take me a long time to get over that hump.' And 2 days ago, instead a new update, on the FB page of The Official Website of David Cassidy, appeared a short scene from the pilot of The Partridge Family (filmed in 1969), with such introduction, "Monday's here! How do you warm up for the week? David Cassidy & the gang start with band practice..until Shirley Jones shuts in down!"

Of course it's an iconic scene, belongs to the history of American TV and pop culture in general. But...3,7k likes! Just a short scene? Wow. And of course it's great that there are still so many fans, active on the website's FB page, writing comments how they enjoyed the series..On the other hand a new update, an article on DC never achieves such popularity, 300 or 400 likes, or something like that. Most fans are not interested in them.

So I've been a little bit sad about it and discouraged, but of course I shouldn't. David Cassidy as Keith Partridge brought a lot of happiness to millions of people, and they still remember him in that role. It's great. And there are also people who also enjoyed and still do his music, recorded and performed in every decade of his career. Yesterday I watched a video with audio from David Cassidy's tour in Japan, in 1974. And someone left a wonderful  comment, "Every time I think I've heard David at his best, he outdoes himself"

Oh yes, it happens to me all the time. David was always at his best.
