Going To New York. And Trying To Prepare

I've done some really unexpected things because of David Cassidy, since 2017. Like going to California in 2019 (and Nevada, Utah and Arizona), hiking in Wiltshire (it could be exciting, believe me) or starting writing my blog (which was a marvel in itself), but fast upcoming trip to New York City and West Orange in July 2025 suprass everything I've ever dreamt about and done. But you know, 'Dreams Are Nuthin' More than Wishes'..

There are a lot of against for going, some very serious ones, but also very strong for, only 2 in fact, but it's been enough for me to decide. The first one is Mary Anthony, a fellow American fan, who's become more than just a name, so meeting her in person, spend some time together is a great opportunity to experience something special. To be there with a friend who patiently answers any stupid question asked by me, and who is a devoted David's fan herself. The second and even more important reason for going, was my long regret I felt after I hadn't gone for DC Star in Las Vegas.  

To take part and be a witness of David Cassidy Historical Marker 2 day Celebration, along with other fans, has been the deciding factor.

So first I bought air tickets, in January, that was the easiest part so far. I've booked the hotel, maybe not very cheap, but I'll not have to use public transport much, it's in Manhattan.  

I started reading about NYC and discovered I knew nothing about geography mostly. I've had some interesting surprises, but now I roughly know how to get from the airport to my hotel and our schedule is more concrete with each passing week. 

I have in mind that probably it's going to be my first and the last stay in NYC, so everything must be planned carefully. Also including in it walking in David Cassidy's footsteps. There are so many places connected with him.

I'm also going there, to that iconic restaurant where on its wall is displayed 'An Unofficial Broadway Hall of Fame' and David's portrait is there too. And according to Wikipedia also his father's, 2 brothers and his stepmother.

So everything I do these days is somehow connected with that adventure. I try to walk more, exercise more and eat less. I read a lot and watch videos. I watch American sitcoms to understand spoken American English better. I save money and think what I'm going to wear..

Robyn Millan

  I learnt yesterday that Robyn Millan died last year. Someone published a post about the TPF's episode where she'd appeared as a guest star, 'Dora, Dora, Dora', Season 2 episode 1, aired 50 years ago, on September 17, 1971..And there was a comment about that episode that the script was poorly written, sexist etc. Maybe, no one would dare write something like that now, but the world looked different half a century ago..And I really felt sad yesterday because of Robyn.
