The Most Important Thing I've Learnt From David Cassidy
It's going to be rather serious, and hopefully not too personal, but upcoming birthdays, mine and DC's, have made me think about the impact he had on our lives.
I'll be 63, and one week later David Cassidy would have been 75. He was always 12 years older than me, and now I'm watching his videos when he was the same age as me now.

He still was looking all right at 63. But it was different David as he used to be in his 50s..He had a lot of problems, personal and with money again, a lot of health issues, but like always the exciting and wonderful performer, in a league of his own.
We've got so much from him. His music first of all, we listen to all his songs all over again, we watch his concerts footage, and the videos of his TV appearances as a guest star. And everything he ever done. He still makes us happy.

We know all the lyrics too..
And there are also things we've learnt from his life, his interviews. To be true to yourself, to do what we believe in, no matter what others say. And one more thing, now, at 63, the most important for me, and David Cassidy kept doing this all his life. Starting all over again, making something new and reinventing himself one more time.
What would he be like now, at 75..Short, grey hair maybe. Still in good shape, wearing a white or black shirt, recording blues and pop standards, writing his own music, and still performing. 75 but still inside this young boy we fell in love so many years ago.
