April Showers / Louis Silvers, Buddy DeSylva
But first Val Kilmer.
I started writing this blog yesterday, it was such a fabulous early Spring evening, and my blog was really optimistic, but in the morning I read about Val Kilmer, and I've taken his death rather personally, for not a particular reason.
I first saw him in 'Willow', and I loved his character in this adventure fantasy film, he was full of life in this role, flamboyant, shining and so irresistible, maybe because he fell in love on the set..I didn't follow his career, but he was always present, somehow..What a tragedy for an actor, and Val Kilmer started as a stage actor, and performed in the theatre all his life, to have difficulty with speaking, and it happened to him, he had a throat cancer for a decade.
And last but not least he was from our generation, and I never forget what Val Kilmer, a global movie star, wrote in November 2017,
"RIP David Cassidy. He was such a huge star when I was a child, he made pukka shell necklace a must have! We used to pick up shells for hours on the Hawaiian shores.."

Until yesterday I had no idea, that 'April Showers', the song David Cassidy was singing with Donna Pescow on the set of 'Fantasy Island', was such a popular number. Written for a musical from 1921, it became Al Jolson's standard. Recorded and performed by many.
It was the second time that DC appeared on Fantasy Island, this time it was quite enjoyable, a better script and David was so charming and handsome, and also in a way so vulnerable, playing this title character, Jeremy Todd, in the episode called 'The Songwriter'.

Cat Ortiz-White shared with us her memories (they are on the website), she visited DC on the set of this episode, it was filmed on November 3,4,5 and 8. 1982.
During the break she asked DC, "Why are you doing this show?' He said, 'The script?' I said, 'Really?' DC, 'You should see the other scripts that have been sent to me.."
