David Cassidy In His Own Words

I've been thinking what to write on David Cassidy's 75th birthday and I really had no idea what. I could think of nothing but cliches worthy of a 12-year-old girl. How much we miss him etc. Maybe a list of fav songs..but I love all of them. I really had no idea, and like always DC himself turned out to be an inspiration.

But first the song David Cassidy wrote himself long, long time ago, in the beginning of his career. When I started writing my book on him 2 years ago, I knew from the start that only the title of this song should be the title of my book, because love what was he ever needed.

This is a great video made by not a fan, and I love those comments.

To mark what would have been David's 75th brthday, a lot of new additions have been uploaded to The Official Website of David Cassidy. And looking at this long list I feel like a kid in a candy shop, there are so  many new pics and articles, even books. Non-fiction books mentioning David, and fiction books mentioning him. Jane. our webmaster, had to collect them for a long time. It's just amazing and wonderful way to mark this day, so special for all of us. There is sadness but also enormous gratitude.

I've started reading those articles. How witty and smart he was. How he wasn't afraid of emotions, talking about them. He used simple words, understandable to everyone, but on the other hand he was so sophisticated. There is a page on my blog called 'David Cassidy In His Own Words', really very popular, because reading what David has said about himself, his career, his life, is truly fascinating.

I've only managed to read one article today. From July 30, 1998, called 'David Cassidy has come a long way'. Somehow it's been so emotional to read it today. Maybe because I'm going to New York in July, and DC said in this interview, "I've always been a New Yorker in my heart and my soul and my spirit..". About Broadway, "I've done three Broadway shows and hope to do many more before I die."

And at the end of that interview he said, "I've now gotten to a place where I think people know that I'm as passionate as I am because I have such a hunger for the work and I will continue to do it as long as I have a breath in me.."
