'I'm Still Learning About Him'
David's answer when he was asked about 'The Real David Cassidy.'. It was 53 years ago, during filming The Partridge Family's episode at Kings Island Amusment Park. So let's first listen to a song from it.

Great episode, wonderful guest stars, Mary Ann Mobley and Johnny Bench, the script was written by Dale McRaven (at the time in a serious relationship with Susan Dey), and directed by the show producer, Bob Claver.
The filming of that episode, called 'I Left My Heart in Cincinnati', took 5 days, 7-11 August, 1972, and was first aired in January 1973. We have a lot of pics off the set showing how difficult was filming the episode in the open to audience, very popular amusment park, and providing security for the Partridges, especially for David.

Danny of course had a lot of fun doing this episode. For the filming crew and the main stars of the show it was a tiring experience. Long waiting for shots and other duties, eg. press conferences. And Jane has just posted on The Official Website of David Cassidy, the article published on Middleton Journal, on August 13, 1972. It consists of 2 parts, one is called, 'Partridge Family Film Session Takes Work And Much Patience' (and we can read that DC sometimes was losing his). The main part of the article is a report from David Cassidy's press conference. Once more we can read how David was witty, sincere and shy in spite of being a global star. That his efforts to answer questions won the sympathy of the large group of journalists at the conference.
He was asked the usual questions, about his love life, girls, the show, his future. And not without a reason about his stand-in Jan Freeman. We know from some memories that David and Jan spend every free moment together during those 5 days in Kings Island. David answered that he and Jan were just close friends, Jan Freeman left the show some time later, she probably thought they were something more.

I love David's answer about the real David Cassidy. His honesty and openness. "I'm still learning about him. I don't know. I'm a lot of different colors and I like to mix them."
