Up To Date
Just the perfect title for today's blog, there are some current developments and exciting news I want to write about, but there is also an anniversary regarding The Partridge Family album called 'Up To Date'.
Let's start with a song from this outstanding, great album. btw. ALL SONGS on it are just amazing, timless classics, even the one David's hated in the 70s, and nearly left the show because of it.

'Up To Date' was released in February 1971, and on April 24, 54 years ago, it peaked at No 3 on the Billboard chart and stayed there for 53 WEEKS. Amazing achievement. The songs were leftovers from May 1970's sessions, and 5 songs were recorded on November 12 and 13. In a rare interview conducted during the recording sessions for that album, in November 1970, Wes Farrell said, 'David's level of enthusiasm about the music is like an atomic bomb explosion. He knows a lot about music. He's not like some people who have just been thrown into music overnight."

It was one of the reasons DC was such an unique singer. He was very aware what he was doing in the recording studio and why. How to approach new material, work on it, who were the songs creators, he knew other versions of the songs he covered. What the lyrics meant for him. He was deadly serious about his work. The quality of it.

I thought about it yesterday when I saw a short thing (you can't call it a video) generated by AI. David Cassidy (btw, looking very feminine) kissing someone. What David would have thought about it. We know how he suffered because he had no control over the quality of the merchandise, the things with his face on it. He was also a very private man. And now his own fans..And please, don't tell me it's for fun. Of course it's just the beginning, fans' imagination is the limit, and no one and nothing will stop some people. But it's not fun. At least for me.

The most exciting news is of course that Henry Diltz will be present in West Orange, in July. I'm just overwhelmed with emotions, and so happy I'm going to be there too.
And one more update. My blog has just got over 250,000 views. Thank you very much for support I get every day, from many fans. It keeps me still going, still writing about this amazing man and wonderful singer, David Cassidy.
