I don't know about you, but I often find myself singing under my breath, "Hey you! It's nothing new, love will be around whatever what you do" or "Hey, stop, stop and look around somebody wants to love you". Let's first listen to the version of this song altered by John Gomolka. I love listening to it with my headphones on, amazing sound, and what a voice 20-year-old David Cassidy had. So strong, so sure of himself, like as if he was doing it for years, and it was his first recording session in his life. 55 years ago, in May 1970.

We have a lot of important anniversaries in May. David Cassidy's World Tour's concerts in Europe, which turned out to be his last in the 70s. Legendary concerts. Grona Lund. De Doelen. Shawfield Stadium. White City Stadium. Manchester Football Club. And actually on this day, May 30, in 1974, Bernadette Whelan passed away in London's Hammersmith Hospital. It was so many years ago, and now her parents, and David Cassidy, whom 14-year-old Bernadette loved with all her heart, they are no longer alive. But we remember Bernadette, she was one of us, a David Cassidy fan.

A lot of people important for David, and his career were born in May. His mother, Evelyn Mae Ward in 1923. The Partridge Family's executive producer, Bob Claver, in 1928. The Partridge Family's creator Bernard Slade, in 1930. The Partridge Family's (and David's on his first 2 solo albums) music director, Mike Melvoin, in 1937. And Gary Michael Dubin who played Punky Lazaar. Btw. it's interesting question why the show's producers prefered to hire Rick Segall when they already had such talented kid as Gary Dubin. And he could sing. In 1970 he voiced Toulouse in Aristocats..Here is a fragment of this charming film.

Tommy West died in May 2021. He co-wrote (with Terry Cashman) a few songs for The Partridge Family.

  I learnt yesterday that Robyn Millan died last year. Someone published a post about the TPF's episode where she'd appeared as a guest star, 'Dora, Dora, Dora', Season 2 episode 1, aired 50 years ago, on September 17, 1971..And there was a comment about that episode that the script was poorly written, sexist etc. Maybe, no one would dare write something like that now, but the world looked different half a century ago..And I really felt sad yesterday because of Robyn. Two Weddings In Las Vegas

First 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. The film premiered in the UK 30 years ago, on May 13, 1994.  A low budget film, made in 6 weeks, became unexpected success, all over the world, earned just mountains of money, and made of  Hugh Grant international star. It's also a film with a very strong David Cassidy's connection.  The script was written by Richard Curtis (born in 1956), whose partner (they married after many years in 2023), a popular broadcaster Emma Freud, was (and still is) a DC fan.
