'We Are Writing The Next Chapter'

First a song about friends. This week we write a lot about friendship. 

Sam Hyman and David Cassidy's first of all, but also friendships formed because of David. Fans are meeting today in California to celebrate Sam Hyman's birthday, but also to remember David Cassidy and enjoy each other company.

True friendship is as rare and valuable as true love, and this song is about 'false' friends, who befriend us when we are at the top, and David had a lot of false friends when he was a teen idol. Men and women. He wrote about them in his books, some he even mentioned by name. In one TV interview he said that he'd given people money just so they would disappear from his life. It's so emotional to hear David telling about the money stolen from him and those false friends..

'We are writing the next chapter'. It's from a conversation with my FB friend, Mary, it was a few days ago. We were talking about the upcoming Sam's birthday (Mary will be present) and for whatever reason about David's houses in California, in the 70s. And I said how David loved his houses and was proud of them, talked about them in many interviews, but at the end of his life he lived in a rented flat. Alone. And I felt so sorry that everything ended this way..

But of course we shouldn't be sad. This is not the end. We, David Cassidy's fans, we are writing the next chapter of David Cassidy Story. It's amazing what we've achieved since 2017. It wasn't easy, there were misunderstandings (or even worse), but we've done so much, and everything ourselves without help from David's friends or his family. I'm so happy that now Sam Hyman is with us.

We are writing the next chapter. Together.

  I learnt yesterday that Robyn Millan died last year. Someone published a post about the TPF's episode where she'd appeared as a guest star, 'Dora, Dora, Dora', Season 2 episode 1, aired 50 years ago, on September 17, 1971..And there was a comment about that episode that the script was poorly written, sexist etc. Maybe, no one would dare write something like that now, but the world looked different half a century ago..And I really felt sad yesterday because of Robyn. Two Weddings In Las Vegas

First 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. The film premiered in the UK 30 years ago, on May 13, 1994.  A low budget film, made in 6 weeks, became unexpected success, all over the world, earned just mountains of money, and made of  Hugh Grant international star. It's also a film with a very strong David Cassidy's connection.  The script was written by Richard Curtis (born in 1956), whose partner (they married after many years in 2023), a popular broadcaster Emma Freud, was (and still is) a DC fan.
