What To Ask Henry Diltz? And Johnny Ray Miller

Let's start with a song which often plays in my head since I've decided to go to West Orange (and NYC and some other places) in July. Written by Mark James, from The Partridge Family's Crossword Puzzle.

Yes, it's a long way and my preparations to that journey is a story in itself, a comedy with elements of drama. Going to David Cassidy Historical Marker is a dream comes true, once in a lifetime experience, but of course a huge commitment and a great challenge for me. Or better say a lot of challenges. Money but also many other problems to overcome. 

I bought air tickets in January and since then I've been preparing myself every day. I nearly resigned after unexpected, very costly dental surgery in the end of January, and again in March when my car broke down after the marten (a lovely animal) chewed through everything it could in my poor car. I had to spend again a lot of money. 

But I didn't give up of course, and in April I got some dollars from my family on my birthday. That was so sweet, the members of my family know what going to West Orange and New York  mean to me. To witness that event, to have an opportunity to meet other fans, and first of all to spend some great time with my dear FB friend, and a fellow fan, Mary.

So I prepare every day, I read a lot and learn new words, I buy clothes and shoes (that's a challenge for me), I've learnt some new things regarding my phone which helps me during my journey, I watch films on YT, eg. how to get from the airport to my hotel, Mary and I non stop discuss and change our schedule. We are not going to walk literally in DC's footsteps in New York City, but nearly every thing we are going to see and experience has a strong David's connection.

And David Cassidy Historical Marker Event. Just difficult not to be already excited. I'm sure it's going to be a success and extremely emotional. An amazing achievement for the organizers and  all of us, all David Cassidy's fans, those who will come, and those who will be with us in spirit. 

The prospect of meeting Johnny Ray Miller has been exciting enough, and now that we know that Henry Diltz will be there too..I just can't find words. How wonderful of Henry Diltz to come to our event. During his career as a musician and photographer he met everyone, he was friends with the greatest, the most famous musicians in the world. But it's David Cassidy who is still important for 86-year-old legendary Henry Diltz. They met at the very beginning of David's way to stardom..What to ask Henry Diltz ? The man who took thousands photographs of David. He played with him on stage and in a recording studio. My FB friend Maya has told me to write down any question I think about, any question which appears in my head. That was a great idea. And the list is already quite long.

  I learnt yesterday that Robyn Millan died last year. Someone published a post about the TPF's episode where she'd appeared as a guest star, 'Dora, Dora, Dora', Season 2 episode 1, aired 50 years ago, on September 17, 1971..And there was a comment about that episode that the script was poorly written, sexist etc. Maybe, no one would dare write something like that now, but the world looked different half a century ago..And I really felt sad yesterday because of Robyn. First 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. The film premiered in the UK 30 years ago, on May 13, 1994.  A low budget film, made in 6 weeks, became unexpected success, all over the world, earned just mountains of money, and made of  Hugh Grant international star. It's also a film with a very strong David Cassidy's connection.  The script was written by Richard Curtis (born in 1956), whose partner (they married after many years in 2023), a popular broadcaster Emma Freud, was (and still is) a DC fan.
