I Left My Heart In West Orange
Yes, I know it was beautiful Dora who was singing it (actually someone else), and how he was looking at her. They dated for a short time, Robyn and David, and of course everybody know about it, but what a good title for today's blog.

I'm still so overwhelmed by emotions, no jet lag, on the contrary, adrenaline working like I was still in the USA. Amazing experience. I loved New York, everything what happened during 4 days spent there. 'Just In Time' on Broadway was something so wonderful that I can't find words really to describe my joy and gratitude. A show about Bobby Darin. I'm sure David Cassidy would have loved to watch it himself, and with this thought in mind we bought tickets (me and Mary), a few weeks after the show premiered, in May. And what a show it was!

Saratoga Springs and the road to this town along Hudson River and the Appalachian Trail, only several miles away. I was sitting at the back of the car, and just couldn't believe my eyes that I was there. Poor Mary and Maya, they only heard from me, 'Wow!' or 'Did you see that signpost? Catskill! Did you see those trees!!' and 'Wow!' again. Just unbelievable.
I left my heart in West Orange. On the evening of July 29th, fans who came to Residence Inn, met with the Mayor (wonderful Susan McCartney, btw she is the first female Mayor of WO), at the hotel splendid Hearth Room. There was also present Joseph Fagan, the official historian of West Orange, and author of several books of this town. And what a surprise. As a person who took the longest journey to take part in the event, I got his book, 'West Orange Revisited". Giving me the book he even said something in Polish, his grandfather came to America from my country.
Unfortunately, I had no time to just browse the book while in West Orange. Only now. It's fascinating read. About the people of West Orange and the places, houses and parks and churches, many of them so dear now to us. And now I think Joe Fagan should add a new chapter to his wonderful book. About David Cassidy who lived there in the 50s, and about his fans who many years later rocked West Orange for 2 memorable days. And who brought him home.
