Let's Rock!
Oh yes, 'everybody, let's rock!'. I have 'Cassidy Live!' vinyl edition, and this week I start usually my mornings with 'Rock Medley' from that outstanding album. And as we know the vinyl edition is from 1974 and still rocks!
We have even something better, Rock Medley longer, faster and even more exciting. One year ago when it was posted on You Tube I wrote just one word, 'Sensational!', we know how amazing live performer David Cassidy was (always!), but this audio recording is so full of energy and passion and pure rock. The opener 'Baby Please Don't Go'. makes my heart beat faster every time I listen to it.

Only 1k views, and I wonder how many fans listened to it from start to finish. David's pics and his teen idol image are more popular than his music, it was like that 50 years ago and it'll never change. Especially in the US. I thought about it while in West Orange one month ago. As we all know, the event, The David Cassdy Historical Marker was a great success or even more, we all left a piece of our hearts there. And I will cherish the memories of it to the rest of my days.
But as a blogger and David's fan from Europe it struck me that when the music was played (at the Gala and the Party) there were played mostly The Partrdige Family's hits. '70's Dance Party was a great fun, but I can bet that our DJ simply had no idea about many songs David recorded as a solo artist. Of course there are reasons for it, also because the last David's concert in the US was in 1972, when he was still first of all Keith Partridge, still on the show.
Fans in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Hong Kong were more lucky. David's solo hits were so much popular there. And in 1974 they could see in concert a great showman, breathtaking sexy and beautiful teen idol and first of all a sensational rock singer, one and only David Cassidy. David at his best. (he was always at his best, but you know what I mean).
This is my fav version of 'How Can I Be Sure', not a soulful ballad, but dramatic, funky and rock highly emotional number. It's just amazing.
