;Dear, Dear Cherished Friend;
Doug Voet said these words about David Cassidy in conversation with Louise Poynton. It was published on her fabulous, priceless podcast, 3 years ago, on March 22, 2022.
This entry is not a proper review, just a few my impressions, and first of all I want to put the link to this amazing conversation.
I think it's worth writing all over again about Louise Poynton's The David Cassidy Connections, because the last episode of her podcast was published exactly 3 years ago, in October 2022. People forget quickly and besides all the time new David Cassidy's fans appear, some of them don't know basic facts about David and want to learn, watch and listen.
So here is the link.

I was listening to this conversation a few days ago, it's long, emotional, very witty and impossible to listen to in its entirety at once. Especially for fans who don't know English very well, or even at all. I'm used to spoken English but had to listen twice to some fragments to understand everything.
My English and my writing was criticized in the past, and I agree with many things I read about the shortcomings of my blog, I'm an amatour I know, but on the other hand I know that this rather basic English I use is also my advantage. David has fans all around the world, not only in English speaking countries. In the 70's we loved him from afar, we didn't have teen magazines or any info, and even now insufficient knowledge of the language can be a barrier.
Sure now we have Google Translate, AI, whatever, but not everyone knows how to use such tools. I think that for many fans Louise Poynton's podcast is something that many simply can't enjoy because of language barrier. So today's entry is not a proper review, just a few my thoughts about this very interesting conversation and I hope I'll encourage some people to try to listen to it on their own.
Enough. Let's start with a song we also can hear on the podcast.

There are a lot of reasons I love the conversation with Doug Voet. Like David he was a stage actor and what's more his voice is similar to David's and like DC he knows how to seduce listener (if I can put it this way). While listening I laughed a lot, but also had tears in my eyes or stopped the podcast a few times just to think about what I heard.
He was a true David Cassidy's friend. And he loved him. The real David. Even with his ridiculousness. Love, respect and admiration. A gratitude, because David showed him the way and helped reinventing himself. Find a complete different career. He worked with David Cassidy at 'Joseph' and for EFX,' and 'At The Copa' and he was also his tour manager after 2000. They were friends to the end, their last phone call was a week before David passed.
What is really priceless Doug Voet has his own opinions on many things regarding David's life and his career, and after listening to podcast I feel like I really learned something new and important about David Cassidy.
