Shopping Bag

Image
I was in London for 4 days, to be there on the 8th anniversary of Davd Cassidy's passing, and to meet with friends, people I've met because of him. I've returned home with a bag full of presents and many new ideas for my blog..  And with a vinyl copy of The Partridge Family 'Shopping Bag'. I've listened to this album many times today..  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fzy4ahHd8Ng What a wonderful song (Irwin Levine - L,Russel Brown), and what a great music scene.  I've been watching it and smiling with love and admiration looking at David, just like this little girl 54 years ago. It's unbelievable how David Cassidy was talented and beautiful. And it hurts that already 8 years passed since he died. My copy of 'Shopping Bag' is in great condition, even that it was bought at a charity shop by my English friend B.  It's not rare to find David's albums at charity shops, he sold millions of records in the UK. I haven't expected that 'Sh...

David Cassidy In 'Bravo'. And Frances.

Image
I have written many times about David Cassidy's popularity in Germany in the 70s, and the importance of 'Bravo' magazine in Europe. 'Bravo' was forbidden behind the Iron Curtain, also in my country, Poland, but it only increased our curiosity and prices of this weekly magazine on the black market. You can't imagine how it was popular in the 70s. First of all because of sex, in each issue there was exciting photo story about first teenage sexual experiences, and a lot of articles with wonderful pics about teen idols, popular singers and actors. And we, teens in communist countries could listen to some Western music on the radio, but we had no idea how our fav artists looked like. And it was in 'Bravo', brought to school by a lucky owner, where I saw David Cassidy's pic for the first time and it stopped me in my tracks, and to this day, half a century later, I remember what I felt looking at his face.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG0hjhwKx5s David ...

In Memoriam 2025

Image
Another painful anniversary this week, and it's scary to think how the world has changed since 2017. Everything.  New world leaders, new technology, new problems, new conflicts and even new words. We have changed too. And our lives. We fell for David Cassidy 55 years ago and of course each year we lose someone who knew or worked with him. Sure we like remembering good things, and David still brings us smile and happiness, but I feel that I should write about some people important for us, David Cassidy's fans, who have passed away this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYpNhu9GmUM What a wonderful song in outstanding, poignant David's interpretation. And I just love this video. In 2025 two our DC's sisters, two our FB friends and fellow fans, have died. In January Kim Morgan. She was not my close friend but in the past years she often commented my blogs and we 'talked' about David  Cassidy quite often. I didn't realized that she disappeared, didn't no...

A Year To Remember. 2025

Image
Of course since David Cassidy has passed away each year is important. Time is not on our side. Fans all over the world work hard and do everything what is possible to keep David's legacy alive. No one help us. We are on a mission, All projects and initiatives commemorating David Cassidy, like plaques in the places he performed as an actor or a singer (not only in London), or the plaque in the Queens departure longue at Heathrow, benches in London and Saratoga Springs, a time capsule in London, his star in Las Vegas or the bricks in Liverpool, and many more, all of them were created thanks to the effort and persistence of the fans. Yes,  some David Cassidy's friends or people who knew him or worked with him always give their support, but it's mostly verbal.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsJSAqv8GGE In May 2025, Denise Ames, beautiful, amazing woman, so full of positive energy, so in May Denise for the second time organized the celebration of Sam Hyman's birthday. This...

Labor Of Love / David Cassidy, Sue Shifrin and Michael Dan Ehmig

Image
The lyrics of this song are not related to the topic of today's blog, but its title certainly is.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Z-aBmyCX10 Less than 10k views after 12 years. It's a difficult truth, but that's the way it is. Fans want to watch  David's pics and first of all listen to his songs (solo and Partridge Family) from the 70s.  I've finished Johnny Ray Miller's book, 'When We're Singin' The Partridge Family & Their Music', it's worth every penny and it was so wonderful I could get my copy directly from the author's hands. In West Orange. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECXIaBy7Bcw What an extraordinary book! It's labor of love, but not just the author's, but of course we own this book to wonderful Johnny Lee Miller. I can only imagine the amount of time and work needed to write and complete such a book, taking into account all aspects of the phenomenon that it was The Partridge Family. 467 pages full of fascinating...

A Timeless Classic

Image
'Cherish', the first David Cassidy's solo album is a timeless classic, and should be regarded as the 70s pop masterpiece, known by everybody and played everywhere,  This video has 3,2 million views. Should have been at least 30. So many comments, fans or people who remembered David from the 70s. Gratitude, love, admiration for his talent, regret that he was not appreciated as he should have been,  that he left us too soon, and that so many still miss him and remember with love, Someone wrote, " His voice is instantly recognizable and his delivery is superb" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez-c6aAOt50 David Cassidy was a unique singer, not only because he had a fabulous voice, his own style which was influenced by his acting education and his parents' background, everything what his father taught him. From the start David Cassidy was very aware of what he was doing in the recording studio and why. A lot of people noticed his professionalism. Wes Farrell said ...
