Some New Updates 2025

Let's start with a song. I love David Cassidy's Christmas songs, those recorded in summer of 1971 for The Partridge Family, and those recorded 45 years later with his wonderful band, in August 2016. Such a great blusy feeling in this number, like a couple of very tired and merry Santas met at the bar and were singing together.

This year a lot of unknown issues of many magazines, mostly European, have been published on The Official  Website of David Cassidy. Among them many Bravo's articles (with translation) and its David's posters from the 70s and 80s.

'Bravo', a German weekly mag, was for teens interested in career and love life of current pop stars. Relationship and sex counceling were important part of this magazine popular throughout Europe. So we can read a lot also about David's love life. How he always loved girls and had many, about his wives, and some stories about those lucky girls who got to know him better, (and wanted to tell us about it). All written in simple language with a lot of pics, some known and some unknown. David also told many stories about his career, love for horses, his fame and difficult years after he stopped touring. We know those stories from many other TV or newspapers articles.

It must be admitted that Bravo informed its readers reliably and throughly about David's life and career, and didn't forget about him after 1974.  Really we now have a huge collection of articles, posters and interviews, David also was on cover of many Bravo issues, especially in the 70s.

There are a lot of other new articles from magazines all around the world, a proof how huge star David Cassidy was in the 70s. It's a great read, some articles are priceless, written by people who saw DC on stage, interviewed him, and many of them appreciated his talent, or at least were objective. Like this one published on TV Land in October 1972. It's a very detailed description of David's demanding schedule during two days in May that year. On May 27 he played concert at Buffalo Memorial Auditorium (we have an audio from it on the website) and the next day at Memorial Auditorum in Rochester (the pic is from this gig).

We can read that not only teens were in audience, but people of all ages were present, and I'm very glad it was noticed by the authors of the article, because this is something I heard many times from eye witnesses, it's not true that only kids attended his concerts. And how his security men and he himself were attacted on stage, and David even got a kick in the leg, we can read how hard he was working, and even tired how kind and friendly he was to his fans.

One of the most exciting new item on the website this year is audio with David's interview for American Bandstand. He was interviewed by Dick Clark of course, and the program was aired on September 12, 1970. So even before the debut of The Partridge Family. The date is right, because we have a newspaper note about DC guest starring on this very popular program.

We have also some black and white pics, actually American Bandstand was filmed in color at ABC TV Center in LA, and now we've got a short audio with the interview. It's really sensational that this audio has appeared after so many years. It's a wonderful and totally unexpected surprise. Sure it would have been better to have a video, but knowing those pics it's so easy to imagine this scene. David was  obviously so overwhelmed by being on the program, it was still a new situation for him, he sounds shy but also so proud while telling about writing his own music. And yes, girls already wanted to know if he had a steady grlfriend..
