"Cassidy - Now A Phenomenal Attraction'

I have read a lot of articles about DC, published in the UK in the early 70s, have own collection of them myself, but when I've seen this, I thought wow!

New Musical Express. October 28, 1972. The front page, David's pic and in extra big, bold letters, 'CASSIDY TOUR' Wow (again)

We can read (also on the front page but in small print) that more details are on page 3 and that David was "a phenomenal attraction for thousands of fans" and that "Cassidy's 'Cherish' album and his 'How Can I Be Sure' single are both No 1 in this week's NME chart". (what a shame there are no charts). This is just amazing.

Let's watch a video. David Cassidy singing 'How Can I Be Sure' in London, in 1985. I have goosebumps anytime I listen to the beginning of his performance.

On the page 3 there are more big, bold letters (bigger than any other artists' tours or recordings anuncements published there), "EXTENSIVE SPRING TOUR BY CASSIDY". His promotor said, "This promises to be THE event of 1973". The only problem that worried him was David's safety. There were plans for David to appear at major venues throughout Britain. And in Europe and hopefully  throughout the world. As we know David Cassidy played concerts only in Manchester and London in the UK, in 1973, and in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Why? Of course there could have been many reasons. The tour was demanding, DC also appeared on many TV programs, and gave a lot of interviews. Maybe he simply had no more time, there was still the show to be filmed in LA, and more albums to record. Or maybe the reason was money. I'm sure he could have played many more concerts in Britain at least.

What a shame we don't have New Musical Express Magazines from March 1973 when he appeared in the UK. What was written about his concerts at Wembley Arena and Belle Vue. Maybe they will appear. I wish.

And please donate. Not many days left, and so far only 161 fans supported  David Cassidy Stone in Camden. Those 161 fans gathered just amazing sum of money, many donated many times. But only 161. For David Cassidy who once was the biggest superstar in the UK. A phenomenal attraction..You still have the opportunity to have your share in this project
