Let The Good Times In / Carole Bayer Sager, Neil Sedaka

The world has lost recently 2 legends of 20th century popular music. One of them known to every baby boomer. Neil Sedaka. His first single was released in 1958. He co-wrote (with Howard Greenfield) a string of worldwide hits in the late 50s and early 60s. He was already a classic in the 70s when I started being interested in music. Someone old and ancient for a teen like me. And in 1975 I fell in love with a song I heard on Radio Luxembourg, a song I had no idea was a cover of Neil Sedaka's..

I had no idea about many things, we didn't have much American music on Polish radio in the 70s, I never heard about The Partridge Family or its cover of another Neil Sedaka's hit. David often sang 'Breaking Up Is Hard To Do', his recorded versions of the song are fabulous, I love especially this one.

Amazing. What a passion and sadness, he made this song his own. As always with every song.

Neil Sedaka November 22, 2017 "RIP David Cassidy. An enormous, charismatic talent."

Tom Bahler. Of course never as popular as Neil, you can't find his obituary in popular papers, but many know that we lost an amazing musician. A songwriter, arranger, producer, a session singer. An author. He worked on some of the most memorable recordings of the 1970s and 1980s. He is remembered by many, especially by Michael Jackson's fans and of course by us who love The Partridge Family and David Cassidy's music. He sang on all The Partridge Family albums and several David Cassidy solo albums.

Tom Bahler knew everyone and worked with the greatest and always had the highest regard for David's talent. Johnny Ray Miller interviewed him for his wonderful book, 'When We're Singin"

Neil Sedaka and Tom Bahler. And The Partridge Family. Besides 'Breaking Up Is Hard To Do' there is one more such song. Wrote by Neil Sedaka and Carole Bayer Sager. Recorded twice by Tom Bahler, his brother John and other Love Generation's  singers. 'Let The Good Times In'

What a shame we can't turn back the time..
