Morning Rider On The Road /Tony Romeo

We often write that David Cassidy was criminally underrated. Yes, he was and still is. But at least he had his great moment, money and fame, and there are still many people all around the world who remember him, and we, his fans do everything to keep his legacy alive. But who remembers Tony Romeo, who died on June 23rd, 1995. He was 56 years old.

From 'UpTo Date' album. Recorded on November 13, 1970.

Of course I keep writing about Tony Romeo very often, difficult to find new info, but only 2 days ago I found and  listened to really amazing cover of this great song, made by someone called Larry L. He  has a fabulous voice, his You Tube channel is suscribed by over 67k people, and one of his covers, 'Pretty Woman', has more than half million views.

'Morning Rider On The Road', sung by Larry L. 14 years ago (btw how it's possible I had no idea about it) has only 4,5k views. Sure it's still not bad number, but let me tell you it's just amazing, wonderful cover, thought out and sung with such feeling, such love and admiration for Tony Romeo's talent.

Larry L. was asked to perform 'Morning Rider On The Road'. We can read what he thought about it, "Tony Romeo (I Think I Love You) was a truly great songwriter, as he proved yet again with this finely crafted gem. What a great request. Thank you. What a pleasure it was to discover it and perform" Thank you Larry L. It was a pleasure to discover your version and listen to it. And read the comments, I really enjoyed reading them.

I think that Tony Romeo, and in a way David Cassidy either, became a victim of I Think I Love You. If he is remembered at all, it's only as the author of the first and biggest The Partridge Family's hit.

He wrote 16 songs for the group and 5 for David's solo albums. It wasn't easy to chose only one. In the end I have chosen the one which is uplifting and at the same time so moving. Its lyrics and young David Cassidy's interpretation.

"Then we all shine on
  That will be the day"
