'David Cassidy The Face That Launched A Million Hearts'

This is not the only time that this famous line (orignally it was about Helen of Troy and a thousand ships) was used to describe the impact of young David Cassidy's beauty. It's the title of the article published 53 years ago, on Hit! Magazine, in the UK.. The recent update on The Official Website of David Cassdy.

A song first. And in August I celebrate Sound Magazine, this time even more, because it was exactly 55 years ago when this masterpiece was released, in August 1971, before the start of the 2nd season of the show. The Partridge Family's Sgt Pepper, the best album in its too short a career. In the fall of 1971, Sound Magazine peaked at # 9 on Billboard chart. 11 songs, total length of pure magic, 32:58.

1.6 million views this video. Not bad.

"The Face That Launched A Million Hearts'. The most amazing fact is  that after 53 years some fans, now very middle aged, write exactly the same things as his teenage fans in the early 70s, what they think  about the way David Cassidy looked like. What they loved the best.

"For me, David's eyes are his very best feature', 'David's hair makes me want to reach out and stroke it. It always looks so soft and shiny (..) What I'd only give to a clipping of his hair to myself', 'The sound of David's voice makes me want to jump, shout and run at the same time!', "I'm just crazy about David's lips, they're the most kissable in the whole world!',  'Just to look at David's face makes me happy and yet sad at the same time. Happy because he is so beautiful and sad because I want to be close to him and yet I know it will never be possible'.

It's like reading comments post on social media now. Fans still use present tense when writing about David.

Even David's comments look genuine. Probably he was interviewed during his tour in the UK, in March 1973. He said that each of his fans had more his pictures that he had himself. So true. And we still have them, still collect his pictures and we are so happy when something new appears. I even print them and put on the wall in my bedroom. My family got used to it, And yes, just look at his smiling face makes me feel better.

In this interview DC said, "Stardom is great, but, in the years to come, it won't be the glitter I remember so much as the warm feeling I get when I see so many fans who I'm able to make happy."
