Our Friend, Laurie Eby.

First a song. Laurie posted yesterday a pic of her room, with DC and Sam Hyman photographs on the wall, and she wrote a few words for Sam Hyman, but not only he answered, Laurie Eby has a lot of friends who haven't forgotten her, and we all wish her a full recovery. I read her post too and thought about this song.

Laurie Eby, from Canada. My age, a little bit younger, born in 1962. Smart, witty, funny and inspirational. Sophisticated. Very attractive. Expressive, stands out in the group. Own strong opinions. Stubborn.  The kind of person people fell in love with or don't like at all. Nothing average about Laurie. There is only one weakness..her health. 4 years ago, in April 2022, Laurie wrote an entry for my blog.

I couldn't go to Las Vegas in 2022. We often talked that one day..she invited me to visit her anytime.. Somehow there was always bad timing, and when at last I decided to go to the US, to West Orange, it was impossible for Laurie to come.

So we have never met in person, but for a few years Laurie Eby was a co-author of everything I wrote about David Cassidy. My reviewer, my editor, my first and the most important reader. She ALWAYS commented every single entry.

Long comprehensive reviews, what she liked, what didn't, what she didn't understand because sometimes I wasn't expressing precisely. Sometimes she had completely different opinion which was priceless, food for thought for me. But she always finished her comments writing just incredible nice words about me and my blog. She was too good for me, and it was so sweet and nice to read, and I felt the most lucky blogger in the world, having such a dream reader.

Those comments were mostly on my FB page and on GB group, but first of all we wrote a lot via messenger. The time difference wasn't a problem. About everything. When Laurie started helping me with my book, 'Love Is All That I Ever Needed' we started talking via messenger, often Laurie recorded long messages for me about the fragments she read. She was a dream editor, and if only we could have had more time or met in person and had time for working together..What a great book could be created.

At first she asked me why and what I wanted to write, "Are you writing about aspects of his life and then deducing a sort of cause due to the facts or effects of them?"

And later day after day, tips and questions. "I'm not sure (after reading the first chapter) if you are trying to reach people who know all about him or both..people who know anything or maybe not much except TPF"

In general and in detail. "Are you sure that Jack didn't contribute to the household when he was married to Evelyn?" "Maybe better change 'They were good for him' to "They were good role models." "Naturally wonderful voice..maybe better 'Naturally gifted' wonderful is a bit meak" or "Put some emotion into it" "Changed operations to surgeries" And of course a lot of grammar and spelling mistakes. And between all this we discussed tennis (we were both fans) and we talked about everything...

Missing you Laurie xxx
