The Entry Number 900

Let's start with a song. I've listened to it in my car in the morning and I think it's a perfect song for celebrating the entry number 900 of my blog.

It's just a number, but it's amazing really, 900 entries after 4 years of writing about David Cassidy, his music, his life, his legacy and about his fans.

Why I write? I know why and when I started, it was David's 'fault'. I thought quite a lot about writing a blog in the fall of 2020, but it was just an idea, nothing more, but on December 22nd when I actually started it, I didn't think about DC at all.

It was one of the worst days of my life, I was sitting later in my room in a kind of stupor, it was midnight, snow was falling heavily outside, and I couldn't even bring myself to take off my coat. And in one moment I looked at this pic you can see today, it was (and still is) on my bedroom wall, and suddenly I heard a voice in my head, 'Get up and start writing a blog'. And I did, and you have no idea how it helped.

Why I write? I don't know really, it became a part of my life, and something I love doing and it's never been an obligation. There is always something to write about. David's music, his acting career, his ups and downs, his website, his fans, what we do to keep his legacy alive, what we can learn from him. How he inspires us, even now. 'Do what you love doing, no matter what others say..'

Why I write? I've talked with my old school friend once, and she couldn't believe that I write a blog. "You hated writing anything at school. Your esseys were always the shortest! You even never had a diary! And why writing about a singer no one never heard about?" David Cassidy is unknown in my country. I answered that people had different hobbies and mine was David. Just like that. I'm a fan. That's all.

900 entries and over 236 000 views. Thank you to everyone who reads, comments. the support is very important. Thank you to those who wrote for my blog or gave me an interview. Sharron, Pauline, Sandie, Encarni, Lanie, Erin, Doreen, Wendy, Marjon, Mary, Barb, Marijke, Lynne, Laurie, Judy. And many others who shared their stories with me. About meeting David Cassidy in person, seeing him in concert or just about how he's changed their lives. Thank you.

I've been trying not to write about David Cassidy's private life, but the most popular entry I've ever written is the one about Kay Lenz.
