David Cassidy Being Together

One of the most loved DC's songs. Wrote by very good  friends, David, Kim and Dave in 1973. My phone rington since 2018. Once my mum's said, instead - 'your phone is ringing' - 'your David is singing'.. Very nice. And today I've been listening to 'Dreams Are Nuthin' More Than Wishes' while driving to the centre of Warsaw..There are already 200 000 refugees only in my home city, and all day long I heard this song in my head. I will not write about what I saw or heard, I just can't find words. I'm so proud of my daughters and my son -in- law  and tens of  thousands  people who  keep helping.. Of course, the strike-out king was Danny, not Keith and his banjo..but David looked so.. beautiful, and we need his gorgeous smile more than ever. Yesterday I wrote the next TPF's episode for the website. S4, Ep.4, first aired on October 6, 1973. I've been a little bit afraid writing that synopsis because I know nothing about baseball, it's not popular here, never was. In the 70s we had a lot of PE at school, we played basketball (I wasn't bad), handball (I hated it), and volleyball (I avoided it). Volleyball is very popular in Poland, our men team is a current World Champion. And in winters there were a lot of ice rinks, and every Pole my age can skate (or could)..But we didn't play baseball, or football (American football). Don't get me wrong, I'm not writing today's blog just to gossip about DC's private life, it's because I always admired that amazing woman, Kay Ann Lenz. She had birthday yesterday. 3 years younger than David, a few years older than a typical DC's fan.  In the 70s I heard quite a lot about Kay Lenz . She was very popular in Poland, like the rest of the cast of 'Rich Man, Poor Man'. That tv series was shown in my country I think in 1978, and everybody watched it, also a lot was written about the cast. So one day I read that Kay's husband was a former teen idol, David Cassidy. There was also a pic and I thought that it was just wonderful, I thought they were the most beautiful couple in the world. There was something very moving about Kay. I thought she was different than typical American actress. Such beautiful eyes, but her beauty wasn't an ordinary kind, not for everybody so to speak. The first one was David's last. It took place to the day 5 years ago, at BB Kings in New York. The second one was 50 years ago on March 3rd, 1972 at San Antonio Convention Center Arena (also known as HemisFair Arena) in Texas.  Both those places are not exist anymore. BB Kings Blues Club was closed in April 2018, and San Antonio Arena demolished in June 1995... David Cassidy's concerts..around 600. In the USA just everywhere, big outdoor events, sell out concerts at big halls, for thousands of fans but also playing for small audience, even in the 70s, and after 2000 often at casinos, at places only glamorous at the first sight. Sometimes he sang for people who bought tickets for his concert in a packet with a night in a good hotel and a dinner. I spent a night (in 2019) at the hotel DC performed 3 times. In Laughlin, Nevada, the city where Suzanne Crough lived and died. And she came with her family to see David in one of those concerts. It was difficult and sad  for me to imag...

  It was something I got for my Google alerts a few days ago. Just a tweet - the most memorable songs of 1972. 'American Pie', 'Alone Again (Naturally)', Starman', 'Rocket Man', and..'Could It Be Forever'. I smiled and thought to myself ;'Very nice of course, and obviously written by someone from the UK'. Because now it's difficult to imagine, but 50 years ago young people all over the world didn't listen to the same music, and a hit in the USA or in Western Europe didn't have to be a hit in Poland, for example, or even especially in Poland, in the 70s a country behind the Iron Curtain.   This is such a beautiful word..I've learned it via the David's  most loved song. I had some English at high school in the 70s, but it was only 2 lessons a week, very basic..'How do you do. My name is Susan. This is my brother Peter', that kind of stuff for 4 years. We didn't have books in English, no newspapers, instead we had a lot of Russian, so I started learning English myself. At last I got some books in the 80s and I had a good English-Polish dictionary. After some years of such learning I even managed to pass ( I got B) Cambridge First Certificate In English. I was so proud of myself. But somehow  I never heard that word. Cherish, we don't have it in Polish, only love, and cherish is something more, is the deepest kind of love.
