The Happy Trail To Liverpool And a Ticket To Ride by Sharron Liddle

Image
We came from different corners of the Uk to meet up at Liverpool to celebrate together David’s birthday and his Las Vegas Star . Liverpool is a part of David’s legacy trail in the Uk as he performed at Liverpool on many occasions. He often talked about his meeting with John Lennon, reminiscing and singing one of his favourite Beetles songs “ In My Life". David also had an amazing knack of speaking with a Liverpudlian accent as he did in Blood Brothers which was also a play based in Liverpool. So there really is a connection between David Cassidy and Liverpool. We decided our first visit would be to the beautiful Liverpool Cathedral and the commemorative brick the DC Great Britain Group had installed with the words “ in my life I love you more “ . We each lit a candle for David . Now this has to be one of those memorable moments when all of us are together. As we stood by the brick I decided to do a live Facebook video which we shared with everyone in GB group . We played David sin...

Where Do We Go From Here / Mark James

It's always hard..a day after..whatever it is. Even after happy events like weddings or winning something. I'm a huge tennis fan and recently a brilliant number 1 tennis player Ash Barty has resigned. Because she's won everything she's ever wanted. Barty is only 25.  Or when I finished my book about DC in 2018. I was so happy but also sad..what next? That's the question..What are we going to do now? Maybe let's listen to DC. I always search for inspiration ..or hope in his music. Yes, 'Blind Hope' seems an obvious choice, but I sing today (to myself) another song.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dreVCZhvbk For such a long time we've been talking about it, preparing, thinking - going or not going, marked out months, later days, hours..and now the goal has been achieved and some fans are already at home and some on their way or leave soon. Wendy Copeland (a fellow fan) wrote - 'I didn't want the day to end'. But everything has its end. An...

What Would David Cassidy Have Wanted

Image
Maybe a song first. One of my fav, amazing and wonderful, charming, always makes me happy, not only bc of DC's smile (and his very long hair) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJZRRekOYqk I haven't planned to write anything today. I've already written some entries about Las Vegas Star, David's birthday, even a letter with Jane. Today is The Official Star Celebration for the Las Vegas Walk Of Stars Ceremony to acknowledge David Cassidy's contribution to his many years living and working in Las Vegas. Some English fans celebrate this day in Liverpool. And the rest of us, in many countries all around the world are thinking about him and listening to his music. We cherish and share our memories.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqSrTNxV6S8 Of course I understand that not everybody is impressed or..just sad, because that walk of stars looks..just like a walk of stars, everywhere is the same, so tourists ..'walking on him' . But I think that first of all he is in a ...

Daydreamer / Terry Dempsey

Image
The only song which wasn't chosen by David Cassidy himself for his 1973 album, 'Dreams Are Nuthin' More Than Wishes'  It was the producer's Rick Jarrard proposition. Rick Jarrard, a staff producer of RCA, was responsible for the more pop sound  of the Jefferson Airplane, and the big Jose Feliciano's hit , 'Light My Fire', he  produced Harry Nilsson's albums. And also that wonderful song.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kznTMxOsxo David knew and loved those albums, he was friends with Nilsson.  DC, 'I personally called Rick Jarrard. Rick had produced two or three of my fav albums of all time. (..) I was a huge Nilsson's fan and got to know him very well, eventually singing and writing with him a few years later. I had all Harry's demos because I was such a fan.' 'Rick Jarrard brought 'Daydreamer' to me. After he played to me we looked at each other and I just high-fived him and said, 'That's a smash''. (Da...

Being Together. David Cassidy Las Vegas Walk Of Stars.

Image
My blog's title is actually 'David Cassidy Being Together', and it was the title of my first entry in December 2020, and I also once wrote about the song itself. Wrote by Tony Romeo, the first song from the first solo David's album. 'Give part of ourselves to somebody else.. It would be our being together again'. Wonderful music and lyrics. A Tony Romeo's masterpiece. And David's great performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFCpbdtwQac That first entry had a lot of views, probably most fans thought it was a blog wrote by someone who'd known David personally (and well), not by an ordinary fan from east Europe. But the idea behind that title was keeping us together, David's fans, writing and talking about him. Anyway I'm writing  today another entry with that title. Because these days we are together, David Cassidy and his fans. Already most fans who have decided to travel, arrived in Las Vegas. They post pics, videos,  we are so happy fo...

David Cassidy Actor Singer Entertainer.

Image
Those are the words on the STAR. So an actor first..David Cassidy wanted to be an actor, we know why, and we know how early  he had that dream.  Even that after 1974 he knew that showbusiness had disappointed him. Searching for  good dramatic roles, he didn't get many. He was so happy playing Mickey in Blood Brothers and of course he should have got an award for that unforgettable creation..the best teen idol ever.. So 'I Am a Clown' is that the most important song. The lyrics, now even more meaningful than ever. Wrote for David by his friend, great Tony Romeo.. I love how DC performed this song in Australia, in 1974. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TptksQHdDp4 There are  many memorable David's roles, Billy Burgess on Bonanza, Dan Shay on Man Undercover, Joey Mitchell on Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Sam Scudder on The Flash, Boone Vincent on Malcolm In The Middle. His stage performances. We can read in many reviews how skilled and charismatic actor he was. But he was n...

Going to Las Vegas Part 2

Image
And some fans have just arrived and they are sending first pics. Those are Wendy Copeland's. Wow it will be an amazing, unforgettable event. I know there are fans who are not impressed..what for and why Las Vegas. What for..because we want David Cassidy to be remembered, we want people start smiling seeing his star and talking about him and start listening to his music. We want to know that we've done something to show our gratitude for all those years. Of course this event will be local, it will not change anything ..on global scale. If David is remembered then only as an icon of the 70s, and I mean in our generation. The younger ones don't know him at all..But we want to do everything what is possible. Why Las Vegas? Fans have been working very hard, there are David's benches and plqaues, in the USA and in the UK, commemorating his theatre performances, his concerts or love for horses. He was not only and simply a singer or an actor or a songwriter, a performer, produ...
