David, Elliot and ..Sal.

Image
I've been listening to this song today.. https://youtu.be/b8CgweFVwio?si=Eod9Z8TBEPOqiLVR And now a trailer of the film released 58 years ago, I wonder if David had been at that film premiere, in Los Angeles, in June of 1965. https://youtu.be/2wlGJ_j0viE?si=8sB3rFBvM3cm7Nwv I loved 'Cat Ballou', it was on our TV during Christmas in the early 70s. I wanted to look like Jane Fonda and was a leader of a gang. I was 11 years old. 'Cat Ballou' is listed as the 10th greatest western of all time. Lee Marvin got an Academy Award for his role. Nat King Cole's final film appearance. Directed by Elliot Silverstein, at the time teenage David Cassidy's stepfather. He died a few days ago, it wasn't a very big news, his last film was released in 1994. But he was very respected and worked on many projects. Elliot Silverstein was 96 years old. He was DC's stepfather just for a few years, and it was not the best time to develop something more between them, a stronger ...

All Because of You / Sue Shifrin, Jon Lind

Image
From David Cassidy self titled album released in 1990. I think, that's my opinion of course, that instead of  this song, DC should have recorded 'Crazy Over You', but he was in love, he worked with Sue on this album and last but not least the way he sings..'I can't sleep at night' makes me always.. envious. https://youtu.be/ATn-z4PDi_I?si=AUuIZd0t7tLN8ngD Great song. It was a bad timing, Cher recorded it for her multi platinum album 'Heart Of Stone' in 1989. But nevertheless, DC's rare duet, in that case with his soon-to-be third wife, was very good. But this is an entry not about DC and Sue, but a TV show which have never been made, working title, 'All Because of You'. Blame Lanie Bray, one of the administrators of David Cassidy - Greatest Fans Group. Yesterday she posted some iconic pics of those two, DC and Susan Dey... https://youtu.be/5AL8oxCCi-M?si=B0BfzyUR5cgHzANe And today while walking on the beach I've been thinking about why no...

Pictures of David

A song first. No one could sing about love like David Cassidy. About every stage of it.  Falling in love, being in love and also about witnessing and experiencing the end of it.  'Livin' a Lie' is one of the saddest song co-written by David (with Gerry Beckley). One of my favourites, it gets me anytime I listen to it. The music, the lyrics, their voices.. https://youtu.be/gWXx03VFVsY?si=b6exINHdJJWmOxUJ My FB friends know that wherever I go I take a DC picture with me. I put it on a bedside table in every hotel room I stay, at home, in Poland, or abroad. It's become a kind of talisman, charm, it's something connected me with my home. I have a big family and besides I wouldn't have liked strangers seeing pics of my loved ones, but David's is perfect for that purpose, it gives me a confidence. I love it. Another outstanding David's vocal performance from his last RCA's album. https://youtu.be/SchoM1IdOrc?si=46sZ_D_Vr94ewVbB My FB friend, Anne Downey...

The Entry Nr 700 or With David Cassidy On the Beach

Image
I'm on holiday at Turkish Riviera, great place, wonderful beach and the sea, but this night it has been raining all night long, still is very windy, so while drinking excellent mint tea, I've decided to have a look how my blog is going on, and realised that since December 2020, I've written 699 entries, and my blog had nearly 200k views.. A song first. There is something magical in walking on the beach and listening to David Cassidy..Like rediscovering his songs again, each one sounds so fabulous, better, difficult to decide on only one, but because he's crushing through my mind like waves.. https://youtu.be/hqBc549rcF4?si=J_3aL2FkyIhipjnm My blog..I've started writing it in one of the darkest moments of my life, and it was like DC himself gave me that idea, his helping hand. The most popular is the entry called 'Kay Lenz. An Actress.', nearly 1,4k views, but for me the most important are those about his music, while writing them I've learnt so much not ...

You Are The First One / Barney Robertson

I still haven't found anything about the author of this song, and even the title is not certain, sometimes it's 'You Are The First One', sometimes it's in the past tense. Anyway  David Cassidy was singing it so beautifully and dreamy, the video is great, and yes, he was our first one.. Maybe 50 years ago we didn't know how to describe our feelings, and we didn't know what feelings actually he evoked in us, by the songs he was singing and of course the way he looked..And we didn't really know what it was we wanted from him. But yes, I remember so well when I first heard 'How Can I Be Sure', like a completely new, exciting world suddenly materialized..and I wanted more. He showed us that love is the most important thing in life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sV70Fcu8OiY Somehow this 6th anniversary is more difficult than it was last year. For me at least. One of the reasons is that tomorrow I'm going away for a while, I'm leaving my home,...

It's You / Johnny Cymbal and Peggy Clinger

I've never written about this song. Difficult to believe really. From 'Crossword Puzzle', but first of all this song is very memorable because of the great music scene from the episode 16, Season 3, filmed in 1972, and first aired on January 19, 1973. 'Trial of Partridge One'. This is one of my favourite Partridge Family's episode, really interesting plot, David and Susan had an opportunity to show their acting skills. A lot of scenes outside the Partridges' house and one very memorable in Susan's bedroom.. They looked so wonderful, both of them. Susan was in a happy relationship with Dale McRaven, she looked so gorgeous and healthy. And David..I just have no words to describe 22 year old David Cassidy's beauty. I've written synopsis and taken screenshots of that episode for The David Cassidy Official Website..A lot of screenshots. I just couldn't decide and sent Jane all of them. Nearly 40. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h98MKT_x6dU Yes..Th...

'The Secret Of David's Success'

Image
First the song. At the beginning of this video visibly moved David Cassidy says that it was his best song and it was recorded 22 years ago (actually 23).  On this Tuesday we will celebrate the 53rd anniversary of the biggest success of his career. The first song he ever recorded became number 1 in the US. Many years later it was the last song he ever performed live, in March 2017. David Cassidy singing 'I Think I Love You' on This Is Your Life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5LgJ7LQjzI I've been browsing today 'David Cassidy Annual 1975'. Interesting, a book published in 1974 for the UK market. Great quality, printed in Netherlands actually. It's a pity that we don't know the circulation of it. With a letter from David, how he likes London and first of all his British fans. Quizzes, games, comics (with DC of course),  recipes (for a surprise party for David!) some serious articles (with priceless tips), 'How David Wants You To Look..' or 'Are Y...
